They really think she had some abdominal procedure that warranted a motorcade of several vehicles dashing through the London streets right after Christmas? Hmmm. Worst some kind of mental breakdown but surgery more unlikely by the day. |

Ho hum. Quite frankly, what Americans may or may not think about the BRF is simply not super relevant. Who cares what royal is America's favourite? That's no slam on Americans, of course, it's just reality. They don't set the tone of how the BRF should be conducting themselves and what they need to do. The American press seems pretty much on board with their counterparts in the British press, meaning not rocking the boat and not questioning much, if at all. The BP have their D-notices and whatnot (citizens of the UK can explain that way more than I will ever attempt to), but what is the American press excuse? |

I no longer believe Kate is ill or had surgery; they are ruining it all because they cannot face that William and Kate squandered each and every chance they had. I'm in the UK and I also find it out of order. It's incredibly entitled behaviour towards countries which aren't in the Commonwealth and have no skin in the game of protecting them. We could abolish the monarchy tomorrow and it would make no difference whatsoever to the life of the average American (and the average Brit, however much monarchists may protest). The BRF and their PR team simply aren't cut out for modern media. They can enforce all the superinjunctions they like on the press here on Normal Island, it doesn't stop us seeing #PrinceOfPegging trending on Twitter. It's insulting, and while we still have the monarchists dutifully parotting the "she had surgery and we must respect her privacy" line more and more people aren't buying it and are demanding answers. |

The BRF refuse to accept that the 80's and 90's are over and no one prioritizes them anymore. The press is not fixating on them anymore and as for respecting privacy, the palace refuses to make their royals work and the palace keeps attempting to pull power, but the palace is not in a position to dictate. The public is speculating, and William is clearly toying with the press and public. Just recently there was a split between a European royal couple and after their press office made the announcement and asked for their privacy to be respected, a comment mentioned that no one cared about them anyway. What Kate and the palace are doing is showing that this is a joke to them. Showing that William and the palace have not grown from their experiences when the press was in fact out of control. Once Kate is out in public at Wimbledon or there is a divorce announcement, there will not be sympathy for Kate or for William. The palace forgets that the public is in fact entitled to honesty and straightforwardness and right now the palace forgets that the BRF should be there, not jerking the public around. The US Government shouldn't be required to receive royals from around the world just because the royals in fact want to party in the States. Felipe dining with Woody Allen in NY was wrong and William and Harry DO NOT belong here. |
