Are there really secret threads on this forum? If so, what are the contents of threads and how many posts do I need to access them? I'm excited! 😂🤣😂 As for suggestions, is anyone interested in a games thread like the ones we had on the old forum? What about the following: What is the last movie you watched? What book are you reading? What are you doing right now? See ya later, alligator? You could certainly start something, if you wish. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Yes, there are secret forums - The main one is Royal Lair and is open to anybody with Baron/Baroness status. Once you reach the status, you will have full access to all the posts! Not to worry, you will get there sooner than you know! The other is Code Lair and it's by invitation only. Not meant to seem secretive or exclusive, but it's mostly about management of the forum and discussions surrounding that. I hope that provides some clarification for now. We are essentially re-starting and re-vamping a once very popular forum and want to provide a safe, free and highly accessible site that we can all enjoy! Admin

I did some clean-up of the categories/groups/boards, so hopefully, looks more tidy and easy to find what you are looking for.

Kitty, have you posted the things you mentioned above about Kate and if so where? It takes me a while to find my way around a new forum

Thank you for the opportunity to make suggestions. I would like to make a few: My first suggestion: At the moment, a lot of the publicly available information is quite controversial - hints of what's going on are such that a full conclusion could be reached, which could be damning for the future of the forum (after all, we saw it happen twice with the old one). I would suggest that the public view of the forum be reduced to bare bones - perhaps just covering history of the different Royal houses, and their events, in a 'nothing that wonderfully exciting to see here' kind of way (keep it newsy but not gossipy). There could be a, 'benefits of signing up' post explaining that once you have contributed x amount of posts you can see the more relevant content, but you have to put in the hard yards by contributing - and thus becoming a valuable member - first. My second suggestion: With the old forum we saw that people shared content to Tumblr which I suspect helped in getting it shut down as *most* Tumblr accounts are sent to full public visibility. Before offering members the upgrade to the secret forum, they could be made to tick a box promising not to share any of the content posted therein; with mention that breaches will result in the secret forums being closed indefinitely, thereby ruining it for everyone. My third suggestion: Setting the text so it can't be copied in any way (if people try to copy, they receive a pop-up message advising that move is banned). That might help with regard to the former point. ![](https://www.free-smileys.com/files/love-smileys/850.gif)

That might help with regard to the former point. Thank you, principessa, for bringing up these very well-thought out suggestions Regarding the first suggestion - we have, at times, restricted the forum to members only - guests wouldn't be allowed to view posts without signing up first. It's sometimes a fine line between promoting the site and showing posters what we have, and yes, reducing it to bare bones (though I personally find the history of the different Royal houses very interesting, but I believe I get what you mean, it's not controversial lol). I can try this again and see what the reactions are - making some forums open to all, and others restricted to members only. Very good suggestion! There are a couple of "secret" members only forum - one for, yes, controversial discussions about certain matters that are restricted to members with a certain post count. There is another more highly confidential one, open to invitation only, where invited members are expected to keep content private and confidential. This is not a slam to anybody who, at the moment, is not invited, but due to outside forces, etc, we do try to safeguard the integrity of the forum and the privacy and protection of it's members. As Admin, and someone who witnessed a forum with probably 10's of thousands of posts get erased, I take the right to free speech and the security of posters here very seriously. I don't write something like this very non-chalantly -even for a so-called gossip forum, we seem to be rattling some cages. Imagine that. If you have any suggestions you may not want to openly suggest, please feel free to message me. I would only share with fellow Moderators. 2nd suggestion - I will have to think that one over - there is already the expectation that discussions in the so-called secret or members only forums are not shared with others, on or off social media. Tumblr can be a free for all - I have definitely seen that and have no doubt, participated in. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) 3rd suggestion - I have no issues with topics that are discussed in the "open" forums being shared elsewhere (with proper credit given, of course) But I can leave that up to our members how they would feel about that? I personally don't have any issue with, say, my own posts being shared, but that is again, something to think over. Thank you so much for taking the time to write all this. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

I hope there is a section created for celebrity gossip and each new thread will feature a new celebrity. THat would be great and also a movie talk section as well.

Hello,
I constantly work on adding items/deleting/changing things up/categorizing/moving, etc.
How is the format? Is everybody finding it relatively easy to find items they may be interested in? It's a newish but growing board - if something is a little difficult to find, etc, let us know.
We do aim to please.

Please don't take this wrong way but, I really do think there needs to be more balanced arguments to the threads. What I enjoyed about the old Royal Gossip was that people couldn't just "rant" against someone without being able to back it up. I used to love going head-to-head with posters who had opposing arguments as, I always felt I learnt something. I've just gone through a few threads and what surprised me is there is nothing about the Clarkson story. In the old days this would have been discussed/debated to the umpteenth so I don't understand why no-one here has brought it up! The Sun has even issued an apology - something that rarely happens. My point is in the the good old days something as contentious as the Clarkson/Sun article would more than likely have developed into "press vs freedom of speech" debate and there would have been lots of posts arguing for and against.
It's no secret that I like Harry and Meghan (and yes I did watch the documentary, and yes I have pre-ordered Spare) but, I'm not blind to their faults. However, I feel in a better place to argue about the contents of the doc., than someone who refuses to watch it, demands their titles are taken and suggest it was a "whine fest". For those who didn't watch they did offer to hand in their titles but, nothing came of it. They did an excellent job of showing how the RF manipulate the press. It was sad to hear Harry say that he and his brother had promised they would never brief against each other (like their parents) and then to see how William broke their pact on more than one occasion. I'm sure there are people who really like William and Kate who could put up some great arguments as to why they should be supported more than I think they should. However, what seems to have happened is that anyone who has a leaning towards supporting the royals are not posting and it's possible that the rants against the royals are putting people off posting.
I think the question/suggestion I'm proposing is "What is Royal Gossip"? Is it an extension of the Mail comments pages where half truths/misinformation are accepted because it suits our argument/agenda? Is Royal Gossip an anti-monarchy forum, so, regardless of whether someone has done good deeds these are totally ignored because we need to get rid of them ASAP? This forum is struggling and I truly want to help it get back to somewhere near it was in the past but, the question "What is Royal Gossip" needs to be answered.

This forum is struggling and I truly want to help it get back to somewhere near it was in the past but, the question "What is Royal Gossip" needs to be answered. This forum isnt struggling by a long shot and the forum has always been open to other points of view. Posters are very free to post their views and opinions, but they have to take that on themselves. The world cannot always pander to the lurkers and those who view this forum ( by the hundreds and sometimes more) by the day - nobody knows what they feel because too many sign up and never post? An incredible amount of work has gone on this site, and no it's not an anti monarchy site by any means. There is going to be a lot of criticism but then again, royal behaviour lends itself to that. Individuals are going to have their personal preferences and that is fine. But, we are different in that we are not a sugar site where we fawn over certain royals as there are enough of those fan sites - we take on provocative royal topics and will continue to do so. A lot of cages are being rattled and that is putting a lot of noses in a snit. I personally don't care and if people don't feel RG is right for them, then I suggest they don't sign up. People need to learn to speak up for themselves because the rest of us cannot do it for them. As long as one is not personally attacking other posters, then post away. We keep this forum as open as we can and if you don't see an appropriate thread, then open one up. There are so many things that can be brought up for discussion. We are not going to be like the old RG in which anybody who didnt fawn over certain people or raised provocative points got suspended by the admin who seems biased towards the pro-sugar types. We are the most open and honest royal gossip forum on the internet and if people cannot handle a little heat, then stay out of the kitchen. Sometimes if you have an opposing viewpoint or opinion you have to fight for it. I feel this for myself sometimes too. There are no wrong opinions here and I'm sure I have related this many times before. RG is what you wish to make of it.
