Prince Harry made an emotional tribute to his Granny, saying he was ‘forever grateful’ for her support for him, his ‘darling wife’ Meghan and her beloved great-grandchildren Archie and Lilibet — who the Queen had barely met.
Harry added: ‘We smile knowing that you and Grandpa are reunited now and both together in peace.’
What a brass neck he has to talk about peace when he and Meghan so selfishly shattered Prince Philip’s and the Queen’s last weeks before Philip died, with their incendiary Oprah Winfrey interview.
To my mind, their accusations of racism in the Royal Family and claims of callous behaviour towards Meghan caused even more damage than Harry’s mother Diana managed at her most vengeful. Some comments: The comments below have been moderated in advance.Nutmeg1958, Manchester, United Kingdom, 5 hours ago
He can't stop the book now, he's received 20 million upfront and will be sued for breach of contract if he does cancel publication. All he can do is maybe tone it down and delay it's publication until we'll after the coronation, but the publishers will not be happy with that, they want their pound of flesh that's what they have paid him 20 million for. This is not going to bode well for any sort of reconciliation with Harry's family.

Perfectly put. These two should be stripped of any titles and go and live the life they wanted. M said herself in the dreadful Oprah interview that she hated titles and pomp and the pomp and ceremony of being in the firm. So go home. Stay out of the pomp and relinquish your titles and those you didn't originally want for your children.

Fergie, it has been noted, has always been on good terms with the Queen and is really a nice person who has never disrespected her family connections. It was actually her father-in-law who was not that favourable towards her. The Yorks live amicably together and the princesses are always their priority in the family unit as are their extended families and new grandchildren. She has every right to be a *cling on*!

Charles should have done some negotiation -- you can have Prince and Princess titles for your children, in exchange for loyalty -- this would mean binning Harry's book and for both of the Sussexes to agree to desist from all negative comment on the Royal Family in interviews and in print.

Nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors. The palace confirmed the Queen & Philip kept in touch with Harry during the covid lockdown on Skype. So they were definitely talking. The Queen constantly reminded the press that Harry & Meghan were very much loved members of her family . That's all that matters . She was one of the few members of the family he was talking to . So why don't the press show the Queen some respect & just stop. Even the palace are now coming out to correct the miss information that is being printed by the press. Which is one of the reasons Harry left. That nobody corrected the press. Things might have been so different if that was done right from the start.

The only way he will be trusted enough to be welcomed back into the Royal Family would be if he bins the book, which will never happen, unfortunately.

Of course he won't bin it - there is money to be made. As for the queue paying their respects to the Queen, I am mesmerised by it, and keep clicking on to watch the live newsfeed - I find it odd how some people, having queued for hours seem to just walk fairly quickly past the coffin, barely looking at it.

The right thing to do would be to boycott the book, however the need for gossip and overwhelming intrigue regarding the contents will probably be too much for a lot of people.

It was well written about before that Harry and Meghan would aim to take down the RF once the Queen was no longer. I have a feeling we haven't heard the worst from them.

I think we can expect a book from Meghan imminently, as she told the New York magazine The Cut, just 10 days before the Queen died, "I was journalling all my time with the Royal Family. I have not signed any confidentiality agreement. I have a lot to say until I haven't." With a thinly veiled threat like that no wonder they couldn't face the Queen at Balmor@l. Harry, now you will have to live with that.
