Kate used her body to get William, but likely thought that it would only be until she got him as his official girlfriend and she could set all that aside. No one can convince me that she wasn't dreaming of balls, receptions, being able to go to the ballet or opera and so on and so forth. I think she thought that by snaring William, she would end up feted by society, she would only have to wait two or three years to get the ring, and then it would be smooth sailing. What she did not see was how once she locked herself into that means of moving up, that she would never be able to get out of it aside from leaving William.

I think it hurt her, being kept in the cheap club scene, riding in taxis, and being stuck at lavish resorts, but stuck being his bed-mate. Nothing can convince me that Kate was thrilled with any of it. Kate like most thought that dating a prince would involve balls, receptions, lavish gifts, picnics on palace grounds, and luncheons with the other royals or at least in the palace dining halls and who knows what else. What we read about in tales, or how other women were courted. Dating a prince is not supposed to involve long term cohabitation, or romps in her own home/personal bed, or who knows what else. Having to flash herself and wait ten years.

The worst thing in my view, is how this kills the tale that a prince would treat a normal woman the same way he would a woman of higher rank. If William had been dating a neural surgeon or a woman of aristocratic standing, he would not at all he making them wait long or using them sexually in their own personal bed. If Kate had been in a concrete profession he might have either married her sooner instead of stringing her along or he would have broken up with her. There is no way that she would have been made to wait. Kate's fantasy of being the pampered darling never happened except inside her head.

The classiest place she went to was the Boodles Ball, but that still served beer in plastic cups and she was not at all anything other than invited out of sufferance.

I don't feel sorry for her though, she chose her own degradation.
