One thing I do know, is that I am seething at how royals are getting involved in business and in politics more and more openly.
William and Kate created their own businesses shortly after their wedding and William now wants to do a reality show (and he even has his own IMDB page) and Charles makes a fortune from his Duchy brand and HME merched like crazy and Philip grafted off of rich social climbers. Harry is now in Hollywood and making a public fool of himself and the Danes got caught out making money off of rental income. Then there is the fact that more and more aristocrats are going into modeling and acting and behaving as if they know what they are doing. Then there is the fact that the royals go to the States ALL THE TIME and I hate it since they should be made to stay in their own countries. We all know all about Fergie.
At least they should stop blasting Meg for wanting to do what they are doing themselves.
As with their modeling and 'acting,' they are taking jobs from people that NEED the income and do not get me started about how Kate mooches with her photography. Each time Kate takes that photo, she is taking income from someone that actually needs it. Kate lives off of the taxpayer in socially accepted welfare and she is grifting big time. She is mooching off of a nation that gives her enough and all her photographs, the money coming from that, could go towards someone who would make better use of it. She has no real right to do this, but she is a mooch like everyone else in the BRF. Then throw in the fact that the royals demand that businesses close during major royal events, robbing businesses like bars and restaurants to make money off of tourism that would only improve their businesses.

I wonder how long monarchy really has until circumstances dictate a removal of them from their lives. Post-pandemic (whenever that is) no one will want royal drama, no one will want drama, they will want to heal. I speak from experience of recovery, the last thing anyone wants is more drama or more neurosis or whining. No one will want to see a fat pampered princess whine about missing out on class tourism (normalcy) or listen to a titled woman with an expired degree shriek about business or venture capital or put up with William's 'suburban dad' act. Whoever it is that is instrumental in ending this disease is going to end up feted worldwide and the last thing that doctors should have to put up with is having to put up with royal condescension. Politicians will be tasked with putting the economy together under very changed circumstances and it will be tough figuring out what works best. Then there is the fact that people will be in mourning, people will be sorting their issues out, and there is no way that the rebuilding process should have to put up with royals interfering and demanding a 'voice' in how things should be done. Just sorting out the burials and the memorials and the remembrances will jam churches and seeing royals joke around until the regular services are held will be galling. Service after service and then there will be the unresolved issues; a LOT of people are going to end up wanting to know exactly what went down that led up to COVID being released and then there will be a LOT of politicians who will end up being called to account. When all is said and done, royals will be on trial as well.
I look forward to that.

I sincerely hope the royal way of life ends.
It's not that they have privileged lives (a lot of that is subjective and open to interpretation), but that they want people to celebrate them for being privileged. They sue the press and damage careers and bank accounts, they demand apologies from their betters despite the fact that no one owes them anything, and it is clear to me that they are increasingly chaotic.
They throw away the rule book and there is a new world order that is coming that will probably not include them, but they refuse to see this and do not realize that if there is a full blown economic collapse, their people will turn on them and once politicians get fed up, the political class will not protect the royals since the politicians themselves will end up going after the royals.
There is no way that the royal system can be reformed and survive mainly since politicians will choose to fix the economy rather than shouldering responsibility for punishing a bunch of overgrown adults into growing up. I understand now exactly why there were revolutions. Royals refuse to do the job, but keep undermining the ability of someone to fix the situation. Meanwhile frustration and rage at the bottom builds.

I don't mind if they just simplify and lead quieter and more discreet lives TRULY on their own devices/efforts and not continually mooching off the public purse. Harry and Meghan in the US are parading around they represent the BM and Meghan's grandstanding is way beyond the pale now. I cannot believe how p#ssed off I am about them right now. Focus cannot be off them for a moment, can it? Shameful that Meghan and her equally vainglorious "mother" parade about like they are to the manor born. Harry seems just like a means to an end for Queen Meghan. Most royals ARE actually living quieter lives - it just seems like the English royals cannot behave themselves and just keep trying to outdo each other and push themselves out there. It's hard to take the daily antics sometimes.

What makes me angriest is that they are leeching off of the private sector. The POINT of all that financial support is so they can focus on spending time doing public works, charity, civic duty without having to work and make private income. Now Joachim and Harry and all of them are moving into a private sector that is filled with people that NEED that professional position and money. Royals are getting contracts despite the fact that they have no real credibility. Harry and Meg do not have credibility for the deals that they have gotten. Why can't they stay in THEIR place? They don't belong in the private sector taking jobs and income away from people. Second, they do not belong in the private sector, or the United States, or in any industry where there are people who NEED to make a living.
They're double dipping. People who are disabled get penalized for getting 'too much' money and oddly royals don't get penalized.

Exactly - double-dipping, TOO. It will continue as long as people allow it to. I think a lot of their most ardent supporters/hangers on need to keep promoting and encouraging them as it gives themselves a sort of validation. They certainly don't see themselves as being manipulated and used as long as Queen Meghan or Prince "Arry can be showcased. Obviously they are not out of pocket for anything, not their tax dollars that are going towards this couple's keep; it's not their tax dollars that starting bankrolling this now trainwreck. How many people/charities, etc are doing without, truly, because of the actions of these royals?

I'm angrier because people work HARD to be able to get contracts and get press, but these royals are moving into industries that used to be specifically forbidden because they were supported by taxpayers free of being stigmatized. In exchange for that sacrifice, they get millions a year and are protected from the backlash. In exchange for shoring up areas that the politicians can't focus on, they get millions, they get protection, and even diplomatic passports. If they do as much as the politicians need them to do, they get to wear all the most expensive jewels and get immunity from prosecution and get away with stuff that would get someone arrested. Stay out of trouble and in their place, they get all the lavish estates they want.
They aren't holding up their end. They are not staying in their place, they are not contributing, and they are causing chaos at the top. Chaos at the top means stagnation and neglect on the bottom and once the public finds out why, violence breaks out either in the streets or in the homes of the upper class, not just the royals. Why the aristocracy does nothing, I do not know. These days, politicians are becoming the main area of power and royals should be smart/perceptive enough to see that politicians have a history of 'disposing' of royalty in bad ways. We all know this.
I do not think royalty is also aware that the Boomers might in fact retire soon and the upcoming generation will not have patience for their joyriding. No one cares if someone lives a high life, but it grates when it is not through one's own efforts. No one is going to want anyone in the celebrity class, who has not paid the same dues, running things they didn't get training and education for. William and the other royals are not getting sincere education and training for public office and they are NOT supposed to be interfering anyway.
Just by being born, it is clear that they are set for life, the least they are obligated to do is not take places from people who earn their way and prep for a life of privileged civic duty and public service. It is clear that Amalia is not going back to school, but she is hyped as being on her way to ruling a nation and she isn't making the same types of adjustments to her expectations that all adults have to.
I find it jarring that despite her huge level of privileges, Amalia is throwing her life away and it is clear that she has no real ambition to live in one of her limitless estates and castles in the Netherlands and get a top education there. Much of the failing in upbringing the new generation of royalty is that the most recent generation is not taught that there are places THEY DO NOT BELONG! Amalia and the rest of them do not belong playing at being 'normal'' students and partying at university and it is clear that none of them belong working at jobs that they do not need. Neither Amalia or other royals should play at living in dorms and none of them should be allowed to pretend that their professions in life are undetermined.
I don't care if they live a privileged life, but they are messing with and screwing up the lives of other people.

One thing I resent is their relentless insecurity and demands for being the center of attention. It's not like they don't already have a fully secured situation and it's not like they NEED to always have the spotlight on them. I dislike how Diana never really did abroad all the attention she already had thrown at her feet and I believe that the royals these days literally refuse to develop any kind of inner substance. Irritating in the extreme.
