Here is what I think happened:
Kate married into the family and starting up drama. She started acting like she had some kind of dominance over Harry and was trespassing in his room to the point where staff had to put locks on the door. Then Kate and William got thrown out and for a while things stabilized. Then Harry got a pad of his own at KP and Kate started up more trouble. She (Kate) was hostile to his exes, attempted to meddle in his relationships/personal business and since no one in the BRF put a stop to it, Harry looked for a woman who could be strong and keep Kate off of his neck. Meg provided this and this is why Harry married Meg. Plus Harry was getting on in years and it is clear that he needed a family of his own. Kate 'didn't like this' and Harry snapped after a while and he and Meg bolted. Kate has been the underlying problem since moving in since she lacks self control and now she is at a point where she is responsible for much of this and Harry will not come back until Kate is broomed out.

Yes, and now she has nobody to focus on except her unloving stooge of a husband. Without Harry as her kicking toy, she's going to have to turn inwards, but it appears that people are really starting to turn on her. Already she/William and her camp are setting their sights on the Crown and "Charmilla" will be having none of that. She's on her way out, big time - I didn't really see it before but now the writing is on the wall. The toxicity in the family is now palpable.

Kate is just like Meg, she can't handle the upgrade in station in a responsible way. Biographers talk about Kate as if Kate just glided up smoothly, ignoring her idleness and the fact that like Camilla, she was the 'woman' of a prince and they don't get and stay there living decently (if you get my drift). Kate didn't get a tiara and I wonder how good her dress actually was. Kate is being cut out and is likely hated. Charles will deal with Kate first and then likely deal with William after. Charles will not let Kate go without paying for ripping his family apart. Bad enough she manipulated her way in and then ruined two major jubilees and not being wanted was bad enough, but I do think that the real tipping point was when Harry bolted and shredded Charles' grand plans for William and Harry to marry the right type and shoulder much while (rightly) cutting out the Yorkies.

I think Kate is like a lot of messed up women, she didn't deal with her demons and so she is baldy behaved around men. Harry likely treated her nice and she likely mistook it for sexual interest and behaved accordingly. Thing is, that Kate is at fault for not seeking help and getting away from the wishes of her crazy mother. I also think she is at a point where she tries hard to do things right, but she keeps messing things up even when she isn't being malicious. Like a lot of women who are unstable, they do not handle change well and she saw Meg is intruding on the first stable personal situation she had in many years. Harry remaining single was in fact a stabilizing factor for her and I am certain that she felt that Harry marrying was nonsensical since in her mind, Harry wasn't supposed to get married and have a life/family of his own, but he was supposed to remain single and supportive. Harry and the royals and courtiers believed otherwise and never saw Kate's seeming frame of mind as logical or sane. What creeps me out is how she treated Meg as some kind of low class riff-raff, as if she were better than anyone because she never engaged in a profession.
Harry probably knows that if eh had married Chelsy or Cressida, or anyone else, Kate would have caused trouble as well. Kate has no willingness to face that she is in fact a problematic factor in the lives of Harry and William and she refuses to see that she has very real problems that are in fact killing her marriage. There will be no real chance at peace in that family if Kate remains and Kate is likely about to be broomed out. She has no idea how to leave people well enough alone.
