Prince Harry to fly back from Australia this weekend in time to meet his new niece or nephew

Prince Harry will fly back to London this weekend, meaning he may get to meet his newborn niece or nephew sooner than anticipated.

Harry had been expected to be overseas in Turkey or Australia when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's second child was born, but he is jetting in to the UK for the London Marathon on Sunday.

Kate is expected to give birth any day now, with her due date reported to be April 25.

Harry has been in Australia on attachment with the Australian Defence Force as he prepares to leave the Army for good in June.

Why does Harry have to disrupt his life to attend on Kate? This is one reason I wouldn't marry him, putting up with how he lets Kate disrupt his life. I don't think or believe that it would make for a healthy marriage. I wouldn't want my SIL drooling over my husband.

Yup, it's the lifestyle that gets you in the end; his body was put through way too much and it'll begin to drop down once he gets older. Too bad he threw all of himself away on a dissolute lifestyle. Just like how Leonardo DiCaprio is no longer the hottie he used to be. Harry is not a kid anymore and I don't think he realizes that yet. He's still doing the impish little elf prince act and he hasn't seemed to move beyond it. He's not a little cutie anymore and neither is his act.

i think he was summoned back so that Waity can't point a finger at the rf and for some reason Harry and his public image is important to them now. i can even go ahead and assume that he was asked to resign from the army, even though he had said before that he would like to stay with them all his life because of the 'fill in the blanks' plans they have for him.

Personally i dont see it as a bad thing he fly home to welcome the new baby.It doesnt matter who kate is and what importance she has to Harry ( besides we dont know anything about this for real).What matters is thats its his brother baby that will be born and is importante hes there.I know if one of my brothers had a baby i wouldt care at all if i like or deslike his wife i would be there for sure.he can be married to whoever he wishes but still is my brother my familly so is the baby that will be born.Unless i really couldnt be there for some reason really important.Thats not Harrys case he can come back home see the baby approach the opportunity to do somehting (marathon) and then go back to whatever he was doing prior to it.

I dont know why people would see this negativelly.In fact i think people would criticize him like hell if he didnt attended this "event" to be in australia.Harry is again doing the right and most mature thing :thumbsup:

i think that this is a political decision - Harry's making friends with the Arab princes, with Kazahstan's (ex Russian republic) rich and powerful. and Harry's role in - being the military representative of UK. in a possible world war these muslim countries could be an ally. and i'd bet my money that this is why they do it.

but the date - the turkish people chose it very well. as they will never admit to genocide, and will never re-write their history books to reflect the truth. the problem i have is - the british princes go with it. and commemorate the brave turkish soldiers who after this victory moved on to mass killing of minorities.
would it be because during churchil's time there was a genocide in India and they won't want to talk about it ...

Galipolli is an extremely important event in the calendar for Australia and New Zealand (Commonwealth countries.) This year is the 100th anniversary of the Anzac troops landing on the shores of Galipolli (on the 25th April. The troops were loaded onto the boats on the evening of the 24th from British ships.) It's really one of the main reasons why Harry visited the War Memorial in Canberra.

British, French and Indian troops lost their lives at Galipolli as well as Aussies and New Zealanders (Anzac troops.) That's why Charles and Harry are there.

Harry does so well on these occasions, solemn when appropriate, friendly and informal at other times. Gallipoli is so important to Australia and New Zealand. I'm sure that Harry and his father could feel the atmosphere, and enjoyed this engagement together.

I think attending Gallipoli events is appropriate - very much so and being there does not imply they are ignoring Armenia and the massacres. The event do recall is primarily organized by the Aussies and the Turkish involvement is a function of thousands of Aussies and Kiwis showing up there every year - if not for that I rather doubt Turkey would have the whole event.

As for laying wreaths on Turkish graves - Turkey did not attack the allies - probably never would - and more Turks died there defending their country than all of the allied soldiers combined. To acknowledge their bravery and the loss of their lives alongside honoring the allies is very appropriate IMHO. Especially since the whole event is occurring in THEIR country. I like to think these commemorative events are about honoring those who died and their families but also about reminding us of the utter waste of human life and potential and the terrible suffering so that perhaps we might get our elected leaders to think twice before rattling sabers. It also though can be about reconciliation and I think the Gallipoli events are very much about all of those things.

We all know the Armenian massacre occurred - so it seems irrelevant to me if Turkey admits it or not - except of course for the descendants of those Armenians who died it might help them to overcome their bitterness and lead to reconciliation - but while that would be very good to see it does not mean we should ignore Gallipoli until the Turks make their move towards that reconciliation. IMHO of course.

is it possible that he has many suits that are the same.

Rosella, there's few things that are wrong about that date. first - Harry went there to commemorate the fallen commonwealth soldiers. but where are the representatives for the indian soldiers? they fought arm in arm with the other soldiers and they dies in hundreds of thousands too. the turkish army was mostly filled in with people from the minority. they had a very clever idea to take the boys from the minorities ans train them on military camps until they grow up and make them soldiers -expendable bodies. Kemal Attaturk, who was turkish was sent to the army as well - as a punishment for speaking against the sultant. but that's besides the point.

my point is that not all british empire soldiers were commemorated. also not all (if not most) turkish soldiers were not turkish at all. at that time turkey was weak, very weak. this historic victory raised kamal ataturk's profile to legend and he gained supporters to overturn the sultan, then to declare turkey as a republic and thus become its father. the bad think about the turkish victory is that they realised that if they want to defend their borders they cannot let any more uprisings from monorities at the borders. seemingly, their strategy to take away their boys and forcefully turn them into muslims did no do a good job in making them part of the empire and they were revolting. and how did they stop them - by killing them all, as many as they could. why? because they were not muslims and they were not turkish and they did not want to be.

turkey killed millions of innocent people because they did not want to be assimilated with turkey and become the lesser class in the country. isis is now gaining ground in their hatred for christians, or in other words - anyone who is not part of their branch of islam, which includes the muslims from the other branch - don't know the names, and i always keep confusing them. with turkey not admitting publicly they made a gross mkstake, a genpcide they did for political reasons - the christian minorities waned freedom and were destabilizing the military with too many internal fights. and that was making turkey to look even weaker in the eyes of rest of europe.

my concern with all of thisis that there is a lavish commemoration of the fallen soldiers, heroes. but what did the one who did not fall do? kill anyone who did not have their faith. with turkey not admitting that this was inhumane, and not right - who's it to say that in the crazy heads of isis stupids they will not see this as a sign that a genocide ends with military honors.that's my concern. sorry for the long post

Indian soldiers who fought with the army of the British Raj has been a contentious issue in India for some years. That may be why the Indian government did not send a representative today, in spite of India being a Commonwealth country. The Indian Army of today is of course under an obligation to support its government's decision in this area. It might be different if Indian Army veterans of the World War One conflict were still alive but there is of course, no-one left. Newfoundland did send a representative, I believe, and their soldiers died at Gallipoli too.

No-one is saying that Gallipoli was a glorious victory. However, it is extremely important to Australians and New Zealanders especially, as the 25th April 1915 was the first time the the Anzacs (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) saw action in the First World War. Australia was only fifteen years old then (after Federation) and people were anxious to see the Anzacs do well (which they did.)

If I tell you that I attended the Dawn Service in Melbourne on Saturday with my family and there were 85,000 people gathered there at 5:30 am on a cold and rainy day, and that number and more was repeated at Dawn services all over the country and at services later in the day, perhaps it will give some idea of Anzac Day's importance here.

I feel very sad about the massacre by the Turks of Armenians between 1915 and the early 1920's. I do know about this genocide of 1.5 million people. Please don't think that because the Australian and New Zealand peoples are commemorating the 100th anniversary of Gallipoli, in which 8,000 boys from a very young nation (Australia) died, (as well as over 2000 New Zealanders) that we are celebrating the cruelties of the Ottoman Empire. Or that conscription of minorities throughout the Turkish Empire was not a great evil.

(There was no conscription in Australia, by the way, throughout the whole war, though the Australian government tried, through a plebiscite later. All Anzacs who fought in the First World War were volunteers.)

The truth is that young Aussies and New Zealanders have made the trek to Gallipoli in their thousands for many years, not just to celebrate Anzac Day but at other times as well. Local Turkish people have welcomed them and on the site near Gallipoli there are monuments to the friendship between our peoples in a spirit of reconciliation. That doesn't excuse the massacres or the Turkish Government's refusal to own up to what happened, but at least Gallipoli is a place of international friendship and good will now.

I wrote in an earlier post suggesting that Prince Charles be written to about this. In spite of his private life he is a humane man and I'm sure he would respond to any letter about the commemoration of this massacre.

^^ now I can see things from your perspective as well. explained in this way - yes, it was fantastic that Harry went to Gallipoli. besides Turkey is really nice this time of the year - not too hot, not too cold, sunny.

as for the armenians - i'm deeply sorry for them because with them it's only in the numbers. reportedly Stalin said that - 1 death is a number, 1 million deaths is statistics and I think that he caused about 5 mil ucranians to die of starvation. but 5 mil out of 45 is not fatal. with the armenians - ottoman turkey extinguished almost an entire ethnos. and now they are fanatics about genes. in armenia many are allowed to marry only another armenian and once they marry their 'job' is to make as many babies as possible. just to preserve the gene pool. why Kim K did not marry an armenian I do not know - maybe because she's only half armenian but she's a very big advocate of the cause. and i applaud her for that.

I am constantly surprised by how thoughtful Harry is. If it was just his staff that writes the letters for him, you would think they would do that same for William too. Harry goes above and beyond IMO. Or maybe it just seems like he is going above and beyond based on how little his big bro does. Either way, well done Harry!!

And, for the record, I never did receive a thank you for my wedding gift to Kate and William, which was a donation. Yep, it was small, but it doesn't matter. It was a test and they both failed. Now, Harry's Wounded Warrior project and Camilla's? I received an immediate response and Camilla's charity still keeps me up to date even tho I haven't given a dime, via email, with pictures. These things are very very very important to their existence. Now that I think of it, I might give again.

Harry gets it. William doesn't care unless it's something that involves him. He really has no business being in the position he's in. It's unfortunate because Harry has the 'it' factor. William, I dunno, he began to dissolve a while ago.

one of Harry's charities is to have a team of people who are ready to go anywhere in the world where there is a disaster and start helping people. so, it's kind of his responsibility to make some kind of a comment on the matter.
i wouldnt go so far as to say that Harry goes above and beyond for his charities. but he puts a personal touch to all he does and that's what makes his special imo.
also, it doesn't matter that he wasn't born first. i think that it is more appropriate to compare him to the other spares - Andy and Margaret. they were both bored to death from over indulgence and couldnt fit into life and make something out of themselves. Harry on the other hand shows up as a guy with a drive and with goals in life. adding to that the fact that he is good with kids and we've got the perfect husband material .. that is, if his PR is founded in truth

Currently I am reading Stephen Clarke's "Dirty Bertie : an English King Made in France". It is a biography of Edward VII, focused on his relationship with France.

I think Harry is a bit like Edward VII. Several times, Stephen Clarke makes a parallel between Edward VII and Diana. I read :

I agree.As it has happened since forever with all girls that gets close to him anyway and unfortunatelly this wont change :sigh:
Its sad that they sell everything about him and whathever he does but i guess its how people are anyway.The girl have been quite polite and nice and havent said anything bad or nasty about him.Sounded like someone who saw a famous person and was exicted to talk about this.She clearlly knows nothing about him and had anything else to talk.She asked questions about what happened and said it.Nothing anormal.Not susprised they picked her out of all the others anyway.What a beautiful girl :thumbsup:

he did say it before Vegas. hope he at least - not rush it, but at least is looking for the One. because, IMO, and - many, many people are telling me this: it will happen when it needs to happen, when you least expect it, but IMO one should not just sit and wait for the love of their life to knock on the front door. imo, he'll need to at least search for her.

ANYway, I agree with you here. Harry's going to figure out his own love life without me butting in I'm sure. Will he make mistakes? Name me somebody who hasn't. He did a fabulous job with these appearances. It's truly his forte. He's a people person and he has that ability to be himself and also available but you always know he's slightly removed without being rigid about it. It's a very difficult thing to do and you either have it or you don't. He does.
