They do realise that once their daughter is married into the RF, the RF wont really have much to do with them apart from William right! :TCP:

So what is next, after this coat of arms, buy Camilla's old manor house where Charles had his noctunal visit? I guess they will need something grander to entertain the in-laws where the in-laws will feel right at home? The Middletons, together with William is turning the monarchy into a farce/circus/joke. We here in Yorksire, poor relatives of both Michael and Carol are not invited to the wedding, and they stay away from us as much as possible. But those fancy double barrel names or those on Mustique, people they had nothing/luttle to do with the Middletons are getting invitations, so they can show the world how well connected they are and how rich they are. The truth is that Uncle Gary was in drug deals, and has paid for their lifestyel and kids education!! This marriage even makes Camilla look "respectable". Will is damaging the monarchy by marrying this Kate and the Middletons, and he has vowed to keep his future in-laws close and visible in his public life!? How low can we get???
If this is true, then Pr. William is making a really huge mistake.

I don't like the shield they used it's too...spikey?!
And the ribbon is to girlish like something you wrap around a gift...
(Oh.. I see! sly reference too Party Pieces! Of course how foolish of me lol)
I would have made the oak leaves green though...
Otherwise it's ok I guess, rather simple compared to Will's coat but they are not noble so they can't add symbols of nobility (like a helmet, or a lion) to the coat...yet!
Will's family coat (http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BPBrBF3zLms/TVxs6ypf4CI/AAAAAAAAC2k/9ldOephxUR4/s400/uk_royal_coat_of_arms.png) has been around for a while now so they expanded the coat together with the territory over the centuries, the harp is irish, three golden lions on red is English, the York and the Lancaster roses, the garter belt and so on. very big coat of arms with many hidden references to the Windsor family history!

So Kate needs a coat of arms now that she is to be a royal. But instead of creating one for her, let's get real. The family have created one for themselves to use for their own business purposes and to enhance their own standing in the business world. Nobody faults someone for working hard and buidling a business. But then leeching off your daughter's love relationship in this way is crass and disgusting. If the senior Middletons warrant a coat of arms then get one. But they've once again exploited their daughter's relationship Their avarice is going to end in tears for Kate. The fact that William has either chosen not to or has not been able to curb this couple's exploitation of their daughter's relationship prior to the marriage means William is in for a real trial once this couple become related by marriage. The term "start as you intend to go on" applies in this case: The Middletons have already exploited this situation from the get go and William is in for a real headache

This IS serious. I just read the whole article and the comments are 100% outraged. This has touched a nerve I, who know nothing about this sort of thing, didn't see coming. Obviously, the Middletons have stepped in it up to their eyeballs this time.
Again, WHY isn't HM doing something about these people? This could be handled somehow. What a mockery they are making of such a venerable institution. It's disgusting, really, and I absolutely believe they will use the crest in every conceivable money-making scheme they can. Somebody, please, please make this stop before it's too late. Please. :nomorekate: :stop:

the design is incredibly juvenile, must have been the 6 yr old that handles the partypieces twitter that designed it. three penises and some leaves. you dont necessarily need to be an aristo to have a COA, my family has one (an old one not something recent so we can make ourselves look posh) but this is a PR nightmare. Kate has been launched as someone with the "common" touch but then the family acts like the bloody Cavendishes of old, no one is falling for it

The Midds want it both ways really, but having the 'common touch' was just so Kate could use the 'victim of aristos' card each and every so often as a weapon. With this marriage Kate will continue to try ot have it both ways, but she will fail in the end since she has been firmly aligning herself with the upper class.

True, KF, because, as you pointed out, she doesn't know how. Ma Kettle never trained her in how to behave with decorum and not unrelenting ambition. She's a failure from the starting gate without that knowledge.

The minute she starts targeting others for her siblings, in regards to marriage, she'll start to get it in the neck. Her and her odious family won't stop until all three kids are married to heirs or heiresses of thrones. Nothing would suit Ma Midds more than to see her lineage in three royal houses.

Yeah she already saw her wicked daughter got a huge prize now she thinks it'll be easier for her 2 other hideous kids to bag other prizes. No way, I think the Aristos and people with titles know what Peeepaa and Ma climber are about and the Aristos mothers will keep them away from Peepaa and James.Ma climber got lucky with William because the man is whipped and a wimp with no real strong family to fall back on.

That, and Ma Midds had the tabloid press on the side of her daughter, bashing William until he gave in. With other families, it's first of all difficult to know that they even EXIST and then of course, such families are ridiculously picky about who they let in (mainly lessons learned from being overthrown) and they are extremely cutthroat. They don't sit back and let thigns happen, they meet challenges head on.

Granted, their Coat of Arms is a desperate attempt to join the ranks of people who don't need to, but I'd really like to know, what is going to happen to these people? Are they welcome anywhere?
This is going to sound really snotty, but I know a few very wealthy families in NY and the East Coast who NEVER refer to Waity and her family. It's not a topic for discussion. Not sure what that means, but I finally asked one, a lovely lady, formerly married to Pablo Picasso. I asked, "If the new members (she knew) of the BRF come to NY what will happen? She was awesome and said, "They'll learn what the sound of a closed door is. We would never embarrass HM."
Take that for what you will.

This coat of arms is just to TACKY; it's not like there's any REAL sympbolism as is the usual with coats of arms/crests and it doesn't even bring a motto with it. Out of what phrase would describe, accurately, anything to do with the Midds that wouldn't end up becoming a national joke? The other mottos and crests, they have heavy meaning and symbolism and also entail something regal, a regal animal like a unicorn or lion.

I'm not being sarcastic, but if Kate had a coal mine, a worker's hat, along with a lantern, that would accurately describe her family history and be a dignified way of sending a signal that she is proud of where she came from. She would then have something substantial to show instead of this flimsy tripe.
