Poor Carole!

Although Kate Middleton's family will be staying at the Goring, the Queen still associates the hotel with her staff Christmas parties

TELEGRAPH- "Her Majesty very gently let it be known, however, that she did not care for the idea. She didn't see how she could entertain such an illustrious gathering at a hotel which she associates in her mind with the Christmas parties that she gives each year to her staff."
That comment says it ALL about just how much the Middleton's do NOT "get it" they will never understand how things work in the world of Aristocracy and Royalty. Kate and her family no matter how hard they try to fit in, will ALWAYS get things wrong.
They are not "to the manor born" that is something money can't buy. Kate(and her family) do not have the proper breeding, she will never understand this world, no matter how long she lives in it. I think we are going to see a lot of Fergie type behavior with Kate(but the press won't be hard on Kate, they will ignore it for years.)

Sounds like HM is up to her old mischief; it is appropriate; Kate has been bascially maintained by her parents to wait around for William, just like in Pretty Woman. Oh, and, as a kicker, as in Pretty Woman, the tart gets the kind, wealthy, nice man who has fabulous connections and endless money. Which is why I'm watching it in the end, so closer to reality than I realized.

On the eve of the Royal wedding, it would have been an opportunity for a cozy tête-à-tête between the grandmother of the bridegroom and the mother of the bride, but the Queen was not enthusiastic.
HM has the responsibility of discharging her duties as hostess to dignitaries and taking pills to silence the screeches of her ancestors before hte wedding, not drop all of it to make fun with the Middletons and gab about X-Factor. The Midds need to stop treating HM like 'just folks.' Kate is going ot get eaten alive when she is married into that House of Horrors.

Initially the press will be glowing, but when Kate fails to measure up (and she will), or refuses to give interviews (or the courtiers prevent it), the press will turn on her. Just you wait and see.

Yep. It's what keeps me in the game. WK is going to get eaten alive, KF. I'd love to send a platinum toothpick to HM.

Same here. This is also why I am glad I have a home based business and I get to jabber on here all day inbetween communicating with my co-manager.
I'm in commodities, I mean, it's hot right now and you can make a FORTUNE in commissions from suppliers.
BOT, Kate isn't going to survive. I wonder how many screamfests Carole throws at Kate each time Carole misses out on meeting HM or other members of the RF.

Same here, KF, I'm spoiled rotten being able to write proposals from home.
However, I don't think we have a really long time to wait for this whole fracas to implode. I still say, dear sweet Jesus, no children, please, at the Virgin's feet..... Let them lose this one and move on with the least collateral damage, but I bet it won't be that painless.

I think that they won't have kids, mainly because, if she turns out to be blowing thousands on treatments, William will resent her for blowing that much in the first place, and the public will be irritated because she shouldn't have been abusing her body like that in the first place to the point where she needed drugs to get pregnant. I jsut hope there's no kids too, since that would be a horrible thing to end up doing, ripping a home apart with kids. I just don't understand why the Midds don't get it at all.

Count me in too, ladies - I also do some work from home, but not all. :sigh:
SG: I don't have what one would call 'breeding' myself but I viewed this hotel shindig as tacky myself. :KEZZA:
They will have children, KF, no doubt - she'll have access to the best fertility treatments available to make it happen, if it won't come naturally. :ick:
I believe this is in part why he is throwing his weight around regarding the 2 years moratorium on royal duties.

She'll keep taking the hits till her death bed, IMO, because the pay-off is worth it to her. These people don't appear to think like you or I or others on this board. Self-respect appears to come last compared to money and social status.

And that pint, KF.

Well, the problem with that, is that Carole wants her title and jewels and carriage and estate. She was the driving force behind this and she will want a return on her invesmtent, plus titles and heirs/heiresses for Pippa and James, preferably with thrones attached.

why should HM be with the Midds? HM did her duty already by having them for lunch.. now wonder where is PC on this? why no stories of him doing anything for the Midds except helping Kate with the music?

I have no idea how the details of the royal family works, but I would think, after the wedding, the Middletons become non-issues. Am I wrong, experts?

Exactly!
Also makes me wonder if HM sort of put this idea of where the Middletrash would stay before the wedding. Instead of having them in the palace she sends them to the hotel where she throws the parties for her staff on Christmas. Heck even the staff (and this is not an insult to any of them, they are all 100% better than the MiddleTRASH family ever will be) are staying closer to the Palaces then the Middletrahs! rofl

Thanks, June. I think we're all kidding ourselves that Wasty won't get pregnant asap. Oddly, I feel the same feeling I had on a tour of Versailles by Marie Antoinette's bedroom and the guide said, "Her only task was to continue the Line."
Well, that all turned out extremely messy, but I think we're going to hear a global 'Squeee' when Wasty's does what we've all done; had a baby. Whoopdedooo. My issue is that I think that most people are going to feel the same way: so what? She had a baby and why am I paying for it and why aren't they doing anything? They'd done in less than 50 years, my bet.

I think the fact the Middleton's are staying at the Goring Hotel is very telling IMO. I get the feeling they dont want the rest of the Middleton's on the Royal estates as much as they can help it.
I think thats why I believe come Friday Carole is in for one rude shock. I remember watching a Doco on Sarah and her Dad Major Ron was interviewed, and he said that once the wedding was over he didnt see the rest of the Royals again, apart from Andrew and the Girls. He accepted that was how it was done, but will Carole?
