William's smile looks forced and then some. He's going to need some real serious jaw surgery from doing this forever. His eyes tell me, "help me! help me!" I had a friend who put that on the soles of the grooms shoes. "Help!" on one shoe. "Me!" on the other. It was a riot.

I like the photo but at the same time...it should have been way more balanced so she was not the main focus of the photo.

Testino is one of the best photographers and I expected nothing less from him. The picture looks loveley (http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee243/MLphotobucket/Smilies/loveboat.gif) Off course it is photoshopped by the best. :rolleyes:
But the (un)official engagement pic looked more natural to me. :sigh:

Yooper - Agree. I do NOT see anything great about that photo, because like you commented Kug's head looks large and Wug looks so much smaller. And, if that photo is photoshopped, then WHY are there so many LINES left around K's mouth, chin and face ?
Kug is a VERY weathered haggard old 29. Wils looks youthful compared. He does not look too happy in the photo, more forced, yes exactly.

I like the black and white picture but you can't tell it's a couple more like siblings.
My view is they are disconnected in their energy, KM doing the show as usual and PW almost looks like fainting in the background. Not impressed, sorry.

I know that Testino is one of the world's most distinguished photographers, but I just don't care for his photography. That is my opinion only and I'm sure I'm on my own. :

I didn't particularly like the Diana photos, I didn't like the engagement photos, and I really dislike this one. Kate looks awful, I agree, IMO and William looks very fake, like he's in a modelling catalogue.
The more Testino photos I see, the less I like them. :dontknow:
I suppose that Testino doesn't have much to work with, regarding Dumbo and Waity. :sigh: The look fake, disconnected and unnatural because that's the basis of their relationship, IMO.

This looks like a dental ad. and like I'm sure everyone's pointed out, they should be even in the shot, not her hair covering, an admittedly small, bit of his face and in front.

You're on to something there, Ella. The photos IMO, are very "confronting" for want of a a better term - too confronting, as IMO, they don't highlight the best in the subjects' features. They remind me of photos taken on a poor digital camera, which at times seem to accentuate one's features - but not to advantage. :

IMO, if you've got one of the best photographers in the world, wouldn't you want him to make you look your best? :-
Obviously, Testino goes for "natural" and "in your face", but IMO, sometimes that's not the best approach.

When I finally saw the top part of the wedding dress, I didn't think Princess Grace, it only reminded me of Heather Mills, divorced 2nd wife of Sir Paul McCartney. It is exactly the same, so much for original design.
Mario Testino, in my opinion, also copie. His formal portrait of them was very very similar (me being tactful here) of the engagement pose of Frederick and Mary Donaldson. Where were Mary and Frederick anyway. I had my doubts as to whether they would attend when she is presumably still nursing the twins.

I don't think it was a snub. Mette and Haakon were not there either. If it was it could be understood as a snub to all the royal continental houses as only the regning couple was invited for each of them. The crown princes that attended only went as representation of the king of their country; except Letizia&Felipe that asked for an invitation when Charles went to Spain a couple of weeks ago.
I was hoping for a photo with all the royals but there is not :dontknow:

I'm thinking that the BRF also snubbed Haakon and Mette. :dontknow:
I read that Queen M only went as a friend of Queen Elizabeth's - she went alone - I don't think it was in official capacity. So, I'm still saying "snub".

The king of Spain didn't attend.
The BRF invited two people from every royal house except from the greeks because William is the godparent of Constantine Alexios, so he attended with his parents and grandparents. Also Letizia and Felipe went with the queen of Spain.
AFAIK Margrethe attended as Queen of Denmark. And I'm nearly sure that she was invited in that capacity.
