William did turn out normal and that is where so many of his problems come from. He clearly can't handle his duties and public role and like most normal people, can't handle his level of privilege and influence. He should not be a normal minded man, he should be a man of respectable experience and focus. He has failed because like his mother, he refuses to see that he has to work on himself and accept that he sinks because he refuses to put his advantages to work. He refuses to accept that there is more to life than a degree and he clearly can't and will not accept that he has to make a sincere focused effort. After uni he should have been stepping more into a life of meeting heads of state, going to state banquets, adding to himself along the way and stepping into full time court ceremonial. He hasn't failed in life because he just couldn't do it, he has failed because he refuses to deal in the realities of his station in life. He refuses to level up and accept that there is no place for him among the anonymous rich. Diana would not accept that her life as part of the anonymous rich was over and she had a much better life, she had a life, not just an existence. Willaim, like his mother, lives in some mental fairyland where he can have it both ways and he can't. Unlike his mother, staff does not leak like a sieve, and it is clear that no one is really obsessed with him the way they were with their mother. He is just mediocre. Once William realizes just how much time he has wasted, if he drops his wife and remarries, people will run out of what tolerance they have left.
