Eclipsing Princess Diana - The Perfect POW Kate Middleton

I've been shamelessly critical of Diana, but the difference between Diana and Kate is that Kate had a TON of time to develop her personality and life before marriage and Diana did not. Diana did not manage to transition from teen to young adult, she married and had two kids and was not allowed to have REAL downtime to bond with her husband in a way that would have cemented her marriage and mental health. Second, Diana was caught up in an almost schizoid situation where she was connected with the contemporary world while adhering to the customs of the long dead and the elderly staff at Buckingham palace that blamed Diana for being in the media, despite the fact that they were too stupid to see that as a public figure fresh on the scene, OF COURSE it there would be media coverage of her. Then there was the fact that Diana was being an adored public figure because she made a sincere effort at her appearance and gave as good as she got to the public. The public actually GOT friendliness and interaction with their royals instead of a double finger. Diaan went out of her way and Diana KNEW her DUTY and did with adding on genuine fashion taste and sophistication and she KNEW that all she had came from the public, not just the press. 

Kate on the other hand no longer pretends to even care and she never did care. Like her ilk, she got the ring, got the marital status, and considers her 'work' complete. She quaffs fine palace wines, grubs the finest gourmet, and she has had the gall to mooch around overworking staff and letting her mess family in the palaces. Kate came from nothing and made nothing of herself. Her parents were in the workforce and Carole only moved up socially because she was in the workforce and met Michael, who was marrying beneath himself socially even though they worked in the same type of business. Kate is worse than most brainless heiresses mainly since at least a heiress would bring a fat bank account and knowledge of how to dress and behave and would be paying her own way. Kate was mooching off of William and was basically freeloading. There is no way she would be able to afford that lifestyle, or she would be living it. She was grifting off of him and she should have been in the workforce and William should have been fulfilling his obligations. Kate was a distraction that derailed his focus and messed up his ability to integrate into his family routine and obligations. 

I am harsh on Kate more than Diana because I am a firm believer in paying my own way and Kate wasn't. Diana came from middling aristocracy and quite frankly I believe that at least Diana was part of that crowd and worked and did her part and then added more on top when she didn't have to. Diana did her part to make it obvious that she LIKED being around people and she was sincere in her wish to make more of contribution. Diana wanted motherhood and she wanted a home life and Charles wasn't just a means to an end. Diana had every right to want to marry well, all women are the same.
