Diaan raised them outside the royal system and did not make sure that they were integrated into the history of their ancestors. For Diana the royal estates and artwork is just a place and boring. They were raised in a fairly rootless way and regrettably Diana did nothing to integrate them into the realities of where they come from. Look at how Harry pitched a fit because Camilla turned his room into an expansion of her dressing room instead of choosing to set up a place of his own. Second, it is clear that neither prince knows how to stop the 'hot celebrity prince act' and neither can stop performing. I also think it is clear that both princes are just increasing their unstable behavior instead of decreasing it as they run around looking for their lost youth and the culture that came with it. |

I wonder if whether or not William and Harry know how to stop. Kate is an instigating factor, but it is clear that William and Harry are turned against each other. William is too stupid and stubborn to stop his wife's machinations and it is clear that Harry is too out of control to control himself. Intriguing that with the dying out of the older class of courtiers and the quitting of the newer generation of specialists, neither prince is able to find someone willing to parent them. Neither William or Harry was raised right or trained right and while initially they were on track, regrettably there was not just a lack of consequences, but Willaim and Harry have the same incontrollable 'need' for what they think is more freedom, but is in fact a self-destructive inability to settle in. It doesn't matter if they had been flogged on a daily basis, this is how they are. They have their mother's restless core of instability and their father's self-pity, but without the work ethic of Charles or the sincerity of duty. I've bashed Diana, but up until Camilla messed Diana up so badly, Diana was sincere about doing her duty and staying in place. One thing that fascinates me about royal life is that as long as they stay on track and do not defame the family or nation, they are able to get whatever they want. It's not like they are stuck inside a cubicle forced to knit until the next engagement. They literally have every little bit of access, and they are throwing it away to try to continue their childhood.
Harry and William are entirely responsible for their own choices, and I think at some point Harry will be told to leave the States and never come back. I do not think William will continue to go into a downward spiral and instead will be dealt with by Parliament in some sadistically creative way. Never underestimate a politician. If there is a labor government, it will mean that a lot of Tories will lose their professions and end up making the royals suffer for that too. All William and Harry had to do was ignore the press and ignore those crazy fans and just accept that they are not special, just lucky.

I think William should focus on his own nations (Commonwealth) if he hopes to have any amount of time on the Throne. William and Harry and the rest of the royals neglect the Commonwealth and rest of the UK and it is no wonder that none of them have any brains. William has no real status and popularity is different from success. |
