I am so fed up hearing about Titanic. It was epic and hearing Celine Dion's song nonstop was irritating as heck; she should be raving about it, not being apologetic. She isn't a simple anything anymore and I am sick of hearing her go on and on and on about how she is 'so' down to earth. Why on earth would she go into Hollywood if she were 'so down to earth'?

Because she's Queen of the Humble Brag - always was. lol Regarding the Titanic, my late grandmother told me a story that she and her family were booked to be on the Titanic, but arrived 15 minutes too late. I don't know if she was remembering things correctly, as they didn't come back to North America until the 20's, but this is what she related to me. And she wasn't a liar by any stretch of the imagination.

That is so unreal. Thanks for sharing that. As for Winslet, I read somewhere that each time she meets Leo, she quotes Titanic. Can you imagine being Dicaprio's date and meeting up with Kate Winslet and having her spout off some lines from a film that is now over a decade old and really she needs to let it go. She's done a lot of artsy films and has an Oscar playing an ex-Nazi guard who discovers literacy (and that makes what she did okay) and finds redemption. I guess that is what it's about. Or something.
You know, I wish this kind of attitude would count against getting hired for films. If she views herself as unready for fame, she is not suited to going out and doing promotional work for other films and on a whole, despite some bullying, she got huge praise and the kind of career boost that ended up enabling her to do quite a few artsy projects instead of just more commercial ones.

That's why I never took to her as an actress. Sure, she's a decent actress, but seems to be a rather dense, muddle-headed dunce behind the scenes. You are a high-school dropout, sweetie, and your parents allowed you to shack up with an older man when you were like, 15? If you weren't prepared for fame and/or the real world, take a hard look at who didn't care or prepare you very well. You never had to struggle for roles and you got a very comfortable life out of it. Shut your fat lip and count your blessings, you humble-bragging twat.

Omigod, she is a HIGH SCHOOL DROPOUT! What a loser. Shacking up with an older man at age fifteen? Total slap in the face! She has no business being hired for anything other than a cashier and then only part time. That is such a slap in the face to actresses that actually further their EDUCATION and TRAINING. Ugh, totally disgusted. What impresses me is an actress that raves about her opportunities and her work and her advantages. Someone who is grateful, not someone who is upset about some minor online bullying that ends the minute that she shuts the computer off.
