Maybe but I'd say the wrath of Ma is very formidable and Waity was terrified of losing the money Ma and Uncle Perv were spending on her.
No one likes losing a comfortable life, but she could have stood up for herself. She could have walked away with a truly decent man and I also think that she's ticked off everyone. If she had wanted, she would have been able to gracefully accept the end of the relationship, but it is clear that she was afraid of losing the luxury life that a marriage with William would give. I sincerely think that she could not have walked away later, but earlier before permanent damage to her reputation was done in the area of a profession. Yet after 2007, if she had lost him again, that she would have had HUGE problems getting a good professional position after all the years lost and her clear preference to not at all work. I just get tired of the martyr story. The press covered her and the public took interest because she is dating a future king and that dolt surely knew there would be scrutiny. She also surely knew that he had responsibilities that he had to fulfill before even thinking of marriage, but she showed how she was not a good fit by not accepting and understanding that. What irritates the most, is how she just loves to jerk everyone around and keep them dangling and thinks that it's just one big game. William is like that too, no wonder they married. I just get sick of her constant self indulgence and whining. She keeps demanding more time off and now it is clear that even she has given up on trying to convince anyone that she even wants to work anymore.

Everyone knows that Waity and ma would allegedly put up with just anything to get that ring on her finger. It’s for that reason that we keep seeing the statement ‘Kate never puts a foot wrong’! No way is she going to especially with the ghastly old crone ma Midd conducting everything. Villagers say Ma Midd looks like a cat who has got the cream these days and is craftily building her own ‘Court’ around her in Berkshire.

Kate hasn't been fresh news for nearly two decades; in addition, she does no work and has determinedly marketing herself as upper crust and threw away chance after chance after chance to connect and maintain a relationship and maintain goodwill. She threw it all away all these years and is suddenly mystified now that a new face, a WORKING person, is suddenly the center of the attention in the press and public? Second, the BRF is frustrating with their perpetual determination to take attention from everyone around them and make everything all about them, all the time.

Or maybe she knew she didn't belong and wasn't really welcomed there by the family; deep down, she knew she was a cheap hustler who bedded her way into that family and she had been smearing them in the press for a near decade as being snobs and being evil to her.

One thing that characterized Kate's messed up view, is how she was determined to be dependent on the palace in ways that were completely out of line. She wanted the palace to provide security guards, despite the fact that she wasn't a royal and she was not a high focus target for nutjobs. Then she wanted (allegedly) the palace to provide press guidance despite the fact that the press wasn't really hassling her like she thought she was. Then there is the fact that she moved in with William while still in uni, despite the fact that she was not paying rent and was not contributing; as far as I know, she wasn't buying groceries and she was not someone who had any right to behave as if she were one of William's set like some social equal. Then there is the fact that she was using him for jet set vacations and I would be seething mad if I found out my son were being used like this. She had no right. She keeps whining about not having choices, but sure as anything didn't care about using choices when she had them. She then whines about being prevented from working, despite the fact that she isn't and the palace has said a TON of times about how she isn't prevented from working at all. She isn't prevented from having any kind of life. She keeps whining about being restricted, despite the fact that she isn't prevented from doing anything. Her pathological whining is in fact grating and a trait of her middle class upbringing. One of the more negative traits of the middle classes is their perverse determination to restrict themselves despite the fact that they don't have any constrictions on them.

She wants so badly to be one of them, come from the way of life, but she refuses to actually TRY to get along with them. For someone who married a prince, who ACTIVELY pursued a prince, she is someone who is oddly determined to be a victim of a system she wants so much to be part of.

William was supposed to be with his family, attending on his Queen; Kate is supposed to be with her family, having family fun and a life of her own. Kate really does think that William should drop his family, choose hers (something he has clearly done anyway), and basically throw a good life away. Kate has no right to act like he has no real right to his own family time and after uni, he stepped into the life he had mapped out for him at birth.

I think that sometimes, whining can be a manifestation of a deeper unhappiness that isn't part of the current situation as we see it. Kate is likely unhappy at her dysfunctional marriage, a way of life that she can't cope with and realistically, her family is a huge burden on her shoulders by asking for more favors and mooching and making fools of themselves instead of being supportive and pushing her to be more independent and self sufficient. She can't cope in that mess and I can't hold it against her that she complains. I also think that she was under horrific pressure during the dating years to keep William roped in and land that ring and I think she was never able to develop any solid, stable mental and emotional equilibrium.

They ran a whitewash article about it yesterday and never opened the comments because their problems have been trending so often that they just need to publish but can't handle inquiries or critique. This marriage is in such trouble. Nobody needs an article to publish how everything in their love story is fine if it is in trouble. He's shipped her off to Windsor so he can move freely between family and mistress and has sidelined her family too. The whole situation is an open secret within royal circles and whether or not you "like" kate, I find the whole thing despicable and wrong.
