Andrew says he will escort QE to the Derby in June. Commenters saying she has definitely lost it.

The BRF needs to learn the maxim, "you do not mix family and business" and their entire delusion that the monarchy/BRF is a family business is a huge contributing factor to the entire mess that that family has become. They refuse to stop behaving like airheads and stop grubbing for more. Another major contributor is how lately the commoners that they marry are in fact bringing nothing but aspirations of their own. Neither Sophie or Kate brought big money of their own and neither Kate or Sophie or even Meg can handle all the privileges responsibly. Kate brought nothing but baggage that had to be glossed over, Meg lived a full life and I am certain that she had questionable things in her past and Sophie is psychotically grooming her daughter as a little Victorian/Edwardian debutante who clearly was raised to kiss up to Philip while he was alive. Sophie is clearly majorly greedy for privileges and her PR 'work' only became self sufficient after landing Edward. Up until then she wasn't running a business or much of anything else. This family is ripping itself apart because they marry dependents, not independent personalities.

I feel that Charles' bad behaviour over the past few days (over the pens) is a glimpse into how he will run the Royal Household.
We've already heard that staffers - many long-term - have received notice of redundancy - why couldn't they have waited a few weeks for the dust to settle before doing that?
Plus, there have been rumours over the years that Camilla spends more time at her country house - alone - than one would expect of a married woman. After seeing her reaction to Charles' rudeness towards the staffer at the first pen 'incident,' - where, to my eye, she appeared embarrassed - I wouldn't be surprised if he's an absolute nightmare behind closed doors.
In part, I feel the Queen didn't prepare him for this role as well as she should - could - have. Sure, he may well be tired and under stress but his mask has slipped several times over the past few days and his behaviour doesn't instill confidence.

I think the real problem is that the BRF runs things according to their idea of a business and not as a family or tribe. In Saudi Arabia, they are all embedded in business and work, but they do not treat each other like the help. There is intrigue and scheming, but on a whole, not one of them steps out of line publicly or likely overtly in private. The continental royals behave like a family and despite issues, it runs well.
The real issue in my view, is that royals are pressured to conform to a suburban ideal and the Windsors refuse to openly live and act like the members of the upper class that they are. The Windsors can't mix middle class and responsibly wield all that power and handle all that privilege responsibly. Then there was Sophie's father reading Edward the riot act about not breaking his daughter's heart, despite the fact that breakups happen all the time and no prince/princess owes someone a ring just because they date or even bed them. CP Mary of Denmark is withering away and Kate can't cope with her life as William's wife. Then there is the fact that princes themselves can't expect to adjust to the consort's previous way of life in order to make the consort more comfortable and at ease.
I think this pressure to provide a -tale has to stop and class mixing has to stop. Princes need to stop playing at being middle class and need to stop pushing others to make a place for them where they do not belong. Princes don't belong in dorm rooms, princesses do not belong working as waitresses in cafes. They need to stay in their place, two way street. It's not just commoners who should stay in their lane. While William was studying and partying in uni, his classmates were burdened with NDA and who knows what other disruptions on campus life so William could have his university 'experience.' Amalia shouldn't be partying, pretending that she has to prepare for a profession in whatever. She has likely disrupted rather a lot of things and with security arrangements, I don't think she's aware of how she's putting others out and all so she can play at being normal.
The late princess of Wales and others have wanted the 'normal' experience, not paying attention to the basic fact that this is the way people live, not some playtime.
