She may be Princess of Wales but today, Kate was just one mother comforting another.
Heartbroken Galina Bolebrukh, 39, broke down in tears as she described to the future Queen the horrors of fleeing Putin's war with her children.

Kate Middleton, 40, opted for her smart £460 camel Max&Co coat and a £279 polkadot LK Bennett dress as she arrived at the Reading Ukrainian Community Centre this morning, which is in the town where she was born, and praised those she met as 'brave' and 'resilient'.

Elsewhere, the Princess cuddled up with Zlata Yeromenko - before being presented with a piece of artwork which read: 'Kate, I love you.'
Kate also learnt about the extraordinary efforts being made to support Ukrainians in the UK by the centre and spoke with its volunteers.

The mother-of-three, who was pictured earlier this year fighting back tears as she visited a site in London, last month held an audience at Buckingham Palace with Olena Zelenska.
Her visit today comes as it was revealed The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales convened a roundtable last week to offer support the First Lady's mental health strategy, which was announced in August to address the impact the ongoing conflict is having upon the mental wellbeing of Ukrainians.

She could sell the clothes on her back and make a donation; she could have her husband write a fat check to the charity and solve a lot of the ongoing problems with costs and such. She could ball up and figure something out to promote the activities of the organization. She's such a useless nobody that it is clear that she is nothing. Encouragement is not substantial and her being there is just pointless. She would be far better welcome with a check or maybe journalists who could write about the things that are going on and keep up press coverage. How regrettable that she is so useless and not just because she can't, but because she chooses not to.

Anybody want to wager than altruistic and caring Council Caro got this sham going? How sick to use vulnerable people this way. Those children didnt need this.

I find it intriguing that Kate has proven me right about the wife-zilla she would become. The minute she had the "HRH" she was ignoring William, shopping in London, visiting her mother, all the while her husband was ignored on his first birthday together as a married couple and she was visiting her mother while ignoring the courtiers who were likely perplexed as to why she was ignoring her husband and her responsibilities as a royal duchess. She was shopping more than doing official appearances and she was usually spending time with Pippa rather than her husband. Then she hired a ton of staff even in Wales and soon staff started quitting due to the fact that she wasn't working at all and staff was quitting on her, a bad sign she was a terrible house manager. Then she ended up taking a full year to decide her official charities and even longer to pretend to want to show up. She blew tons of cash we know nothing about on who knows what and she started showering her family in favors. Then she had the nerve to start leaking BS about how she was being bullied by the palace. Then there is the fact that she made a fool of herself at the Diamond Jubilee official events, foisted her family on the float, and then the nude scandal and ran out and left William to face his family alone. Yet her fans cheered her on and blamed the press and it made me want to scream

in rage. Her fan-base cheers her on as she makes one round of a fool of herself and after all this, she is still described as the ideal wife and consort. One thing I do see is how William is increasingly vulnerable to people who do not wish him well. His wife is supposed to be a consort that has his back and he needed a consort who behaved so well that she could not be used as a proxy weapon against him. Instead we see William being subjected not to assault, but a lack of help and much of that stems from how Kate herself is there. The minute Kate got that ring William was moved into the 'famous for being famous' category and Kate is content being useless, but it is obvious that William is not. Kate's fans are there, but increasingly powerless and elderly and can't keep her protected and like most women who are useless and unable to help herself, it is clear that she will not be able to adapt to a life without an indulgent husband.

Forty is a watershed and she is forty, William is 40, and this is a point where we take a look not just at our life, but our choices. William is needs that Kate is not willing to meet and she can't even if she wanted. She can't pick him up and help move him to more political circles and it is clear that he is about to start reacting over his bad choices and his bad way of treating people. He will never be able to undo the damage, but Charles might lay a heavy penance on his shoulders and William might work towards earning forgiveness. Kate however will be left behind mainly since Charles won't require a divorce, but he might require William to choose. William will choose his titles and leave Kate behind and Kate will sink. 40 is different than twenty, even thirty. Even at thirty a person can rebuild, but forty is midpoint and I KNOW there are those silly comedies that talk about forty being a rebirth, but forty is a midpoint where your history is established and you can't just start out with nothing but volunteerism on your resume, if you have a resume. Kate has no resume, no skills, no valuable contacts, and the new King is not a nice or generous man except to his allies and Kate has not shown or proven herself to be an ally. Her family cannot protect her and her mother will cut her into the streets if only to save herself. Kate has no real concrete security. KP is not in her name and neither is Anmer and if she is banished to Adelaide cottage, she will only be there until a less royal place for her to be moved to. Her good situation is dissolving and she has no real anything to stand on.

She has no real awareness (like most of her ilk) that her husband might be content with a separate life, but it could be that his contentment comes from deciding that he has given up and is quietly figuring out how to exit the marriage with the minimum of explosion. William is likely quiet and complacent, but it is likely stemming from how he has given up and is past the point of turmoil and has decided to end the marriage and is in the mental planning stages, even if he hasn't called a lawyer or even picked up his phone. I think he has reached a point where he is shutting down indecision and he is beginning to develop initiative. Midlife is the most dangerous stage of marriages and like most complacent housewives, Kate has no idea what her husband is really thinking. I do not think William is at a point where he has any real place in Kate's life and Kate has removed herself so much from official life that she can do all the concerts she wants, but it will not save her. She is upping her appearances, but that isn't going to save her now that she has no real past record of service where she could leverage a decent settlement from William. Worse, she has no allies to lean on the palace to make sure she is well provided for. She doesn't even have media supporters and William will not consider the press once he is on the rampage. Kate herself has seen his wrath. After a divorce, there will not be red carpets, there will not be limos, there will not be fawning celebrities and there will not be limitless money or limitless protection. King Charles is not Queen Elizabeth and like most women who have no skills, she will find out that the world is not kind to the unskilled and friendless. She has no real anything to her name or in her own right. Like many housewives, she will not have her plush home, staff, or toadying sycophants and unlike Diana, she has no long years of service. She is one divorce signature away from a bad way of life. William is not a generous man and Charles is ruthless and is showing himself to be swift, sure, and decisive.

Kate is nothing like Diana; Diana already knew French and Italian and did work hard in her own limited way despite huge struggles. Kate had more of a cultural advantage (in regards to women being moved into education and training) and it is clear that Diana had more going against her in a lot of areas. Now that I am older, I understand and emphasize with Diana a lot more and what enrages me is that Kate did not have the cultural or social constrictions/pressures that Diana had. Upper class women have notoriously been under huge pressure to remain passive, ignorant, and treat education as a token ritual rather than serious preparation for a serious profession. Diana was someone who was also stigmatized because of the divorce of her parents and shew as trivialized by Charles' set/staff and a husband who had a refusal to see Camilla for the manipulations that she was using against Charles and how Camilla drove Diana out. Then the press was officially out of control and Diana was too young to handle it responsibly. Kate refuses to work, refuses to try, refuses to develop her own home life with William, and refuses to look after her children and refuses to at least TRY to put in a full year's work.

There's a lot of Middleton family side that was there ... just Carol & her bother, his wife & a cousin of Carole that was there from the Goldsmith side.

Despite the fact that Kate has all these relatives, we never see Kate with them or they with her. Them being there is something that was likely tokenism, not real sentiment or affection.

I feel smug about Kate's wasted years and life. She has a ruined reputation, her husband disrespects her day in and day out, and for all that Charles is supporting her, he is likely scheming with courtiers about how to wipe Kate out of the family for good. Her recent uptick in work is not going to save her, not at this late date. She will certainly not be making out like Diana did with her divorce.

In Kate's mind, she wasn't wasting her years, she was investing her years into waiting and expected a ring in return. She bought that ring with her youth and William fell for her schtick and second, Kate is lauded only by a segment of society that is still culturally dominant, but in the wane. A few more years and that culture will end once the Boomers retire for real. William and Kate are midlife and in my view it is clear that he is out mentally and will soon be leaving physically. William is sly and crafty and he is merciless. Kate might have invested ten years, but she's been well repaid those ten years and she has given nothing back in the meantime to keep him in an owing position. Kate has been repaid and William likely feels that he has done his bit and he now will be cutting her off and go find someone he prefers. There is no way that she will be spending time cooling her heels in a palatial palace suite for long and soon it will all end. I do not think she is at a secure place right now. She might 'feel' that things have equalized, but she is at a point where she is likely at her most insecure. Marriages often fail at midlife and she realistically will be spending much of her time wondering if William will in fact end their marriage, even if it is at the back of her mind.

She is in a very pivotal place and I do not think it will pivot in her favor. William is likely taking hard stock of his life and I believe he will end up ditching her, having paid his debt to her and her little media acolytes. I also do not think she is aware of how little he could in fact leave her. She has no allies and the tabloid editors are not substantial allies.
