Well, that is what The Potato Head specializes in: monopolizing.

Letizia (Queen of Spain) did that frequently as well, even at an event where the Pope himself was presiding. I cannot remember if it was a funeral of JPII or it was a celebratory open Mass, but it was in Rome and Letizia kept looking up at Felipe like a silly insecure girl.

She knows nothing of self sacrifice and it is clear that she has zero comprehension of the contradictions.

Aside: Something about Kate/re:Tatler from 2020 www.pajiba.com/celebrities_are_better_than_you/lets-decode-that-tatler-piece-on-kate-middleton.phpIs This Supposed to be Sympathetic? Let's Decode That Tatler Piece on Kate Middleton By Kayleigh Donaldson | Celebrity | May 27, 2020 | 88 Comments ‘Has the Duchess of Cambridge suddenly become one of the most influential women in the world?’
That’s the opening sentence to the latest cover piece by Tatler, the glossy magazine dedicated to the lives, quirks, and superiority of the British upper-classes. The publication has been documenting the Royals for decades now, with Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, being one of their most adored topics. She’s featured on the cover multiple times — although she has never officially posed for them — and they even made a dress-up paper doll of her for readers to have fun with (don’t worry, she was wearing very sensible underwear.)
In the game of thrones that is the Windsor family drama, Tatler has firmly established itself as Team Kate, whether they acknowledge it or not. Their most recent cover story on Meghan Markle included debates from multiple points-of-view on whether the newest addition to the Firm was a good or bad choice. The magazine has been a key battleground for ‘sources’ to air out their grievances with the Sussexes, with Meghan being labeled as ‘Me-gain’, an ambitious schemer who has hen-pecked her poor husband into submission. Coincidentally, Tatler regularly and positively features Rose Hanbury, the Marchioness of Cholmondeley and Kate’s BFF who William is alleged to have had an affair with....

Some comments:
Alice • a year ago • edited This is pathetic and made Kate just way more uninteresting. Probably it's a distraction for Andrew and Epstein documentary and Meghan and Harry book, but it's having the contrary effect, people aren't so dumb. Also probably Kate "friends" secretly despise her and said a lot of innocent absurds to make her look ridiculous.

Actually, I think this was released to distract from the Epstein hit piece on Netflix. Queen Elizabeth is obsessed with protecting Andy the Pedo that I can't help but think this was purposeful.
I know, I know, got my tin foil hat on.
LinaLamont PDamian • a year ago I think you could probably find a similar comparison between the women who marry their college sweethearts and those who marry in their mid-30s.
Kate's been with William almost her entire adult life. Yes, all of her friends are his friends. That's probably the nature of being in relationship with such a public figure. Even if Kate had wanted to get a "real job" during the brief split with William, the press wasn't exactly leaving her alone during that time.
As for what she brings to it, I would not even hazard to guess what brought William back to Kate after they'd broken up. His father had been pressured into marrying Diana; I would hope that William didn't have the same kind of pressure, but who knows?

The whole Meghan v's Kate is ridiculous. The former has f#cked off abroad with the ginger and Kate just looks vaguely exhausted with the balding one. I am a bit team Prince Charles because of how passionate he is about the environment and really I think he'd be quite happy with a big allotment somewhere giving advice on solar energy powered sheds or something.
7 • Share › Avatar Alberto Cox Délano • a year ago I love that the Cambridges work ethic is so lousy they can get dunked on by other famous and privileged celebrities. When a star is on a press tour, eleven engagements in a month wouldn't be just phoning it in, it'd be active sabotage against whatever they're promoting.
14 • Share › Avatar MoonPowerCrystal • a year ago I gotta say that this whole aristo world sounds nightmarish. The fact that they still feel the need to remind Kate and her family that they are not part of the set is petty and immature. And these are the people with influence and power in several spheres! Meghan and Harry just continue to seem smarter by their decision.
12 • Share › Avatar LinaLamont • a year ago Endearingly, following the spirit of Diana, both William and Kate consult psychics. Oh geez, what a fact to throw in there among the rest. Is this supposed to make us take her *more* seriously?
12 • Share › Avatar Snooter the hooter LinaLamont • a year ago Yeah, it is not "endearing" that these people are gullible idiots.
1 • Share › − Avatar MadFabCad • a year ago I do so love your royal deep dives. Thank you for this.
Also, Kensington Karen is my new favourite name for Kate.
16 • Share › − Avatar NCDancer • a year ago I am so confused. How was this supposed to be flattering? It is a portrait of a woman who seemly has reduced herself to a shell of a human with no discernible personality or defining characteristics beyond being a blank slate. Is that a thing people want in heads of state? I am not sure what the PR team was thinking.

The dolt should be serving already; she should have a decade's worth of public service behind her and I am certain that she has no ability at this point to serve.

It’s all so fake and hypocritical. Other years showed many ‘photos of her laughing, guffawing and talking at completely inappropriate times.

I think Kate was told off and ordered to spend time with the BRF as is tradition, that spoiled little twit. She has no right holding onto an attachment she should be grown out of by now. She grew up in the UK and knew what it would be, but has unfairly insisted on dragging William away from his family time and time again.
