The real problem is the fact that too many courtiers do not get hired as employees, but grace/favor appointments and they are very often in an ill-defined position themselves. They are there, but regrettably they have a bad attitude towards their betters. They are staff and should be treated as such, not getting mouthy with the royals or deciding who should and should not be protected. HM let them run wild and while I think they are sincere about their dedication, they forget too easily that they are there to serve.
