Much of this is caused by the wives and this is because princes prefer to marry controlling women, without realizing that controlling women are just as bad as controlling men. Neither Kate or Meg are stable women with stable personalities and it says a lot that they got the rings. Meg is not someone who has basically been renowned for her stability and we all know about Kate. What I do see is how royal men in particular are abdicating their masculine responsibility to lead and decide. Princes in particular are prone to being whiners and it is clear that neither William or Harry were required to start making choices and accept the consequences. A huge reason there is this mess between genders these days is that men are reliant on the women in their lives in ways that are burdening women to shoulder responsibilities in relationships that are in fact alien to our natures. William and Harry by rights should be decisive, strong, capable, congenial men who have a long list of charities and a long history of appearances and ties of their own in their own right, but like their mother, prefer to throw it all away. Neither are independent minded and it is clear that both prefer a passive approach. Both princes should be married to fine consorts, but regrettably neither prince was required to get in touch with and adapt to changing times.
I am reminded of how in the film "Coming to America" the crown prince was presented with this beautiful woman who was trained from birth to be loyal only to him and it is clear that he (for some childish reason) didn't want her at all and then he goes to some ghetto area and finds someone who first seems to like him and then refuses to give him a chance to explain things. Like Charles, who did have this beautiful consort and yet he threw her away for a woman ridden more times than a racehorse. Royal men literally refuse to appreciate the way much of this world works and like Charles, William and Harry prefer trash to filet Mignon. In films, the suitable types are the ones who are considered boring and stiff and considered boring without realizing that the other consort didn't have much choice either. The princes don't want to make any kind of effort and then wonder why decent types either lash out or end up being ignored by them or snapped up by others. it is obvious that neither William or Harry want to make an effort and clearly as a result, decent ones are getting snapped up by others and embedded in careers. Why William and Harry were not raised right, I do not know, but they were clearly always uncontrollable. I wonder why no one ever did a follow-up about how the jilted consorts felt about being rejected for someone grossly unsuitable and how the new Cinderella gets everything that the jilted were trained to handle.
