I'm over her myself. She's as much to blame for this IMO fiasco as anyone. In fact, more than anyone, because she held the power to stop it and she didn't. :thumbsdown:

This wedding will be the beginning of the end of the monarchy - at least in Oz. The republican debate is steaming right now. And, if they try to tour, it will only get worse. :whistle:

June, I understand what you mean but I think HM has threw in the towel. Maybe her fear is that William would renounce his right to the throne because of Waity and it would stir a big scandal. I think she can no longer bare huge scandals. All the divorces and mud slinging, it's been too much for her.

I agree with your assessment, but IMO that is like putting a band-aid on a a sore that will not heal.

Look at the controversy the Midds are causing - in the papers at least. I think a bit of short-term pain would have been better than long-term agony.

In any case, I don't believe William would abdicate his right to rule. He's too full of himself and too gutless for that. Besides, I don't believe that Kate is his Wallis Simpson. :June:

Well they always put on her shoulders the fault that everything on every mariages that cracked up... She know william and maybe this the that in the end she can teach him a leason: I TOLD YOU! I think that HM really did try at first, but there is only telling someone NO for so long, especially with no results. I think the Middletrash family have thouroughly brainwashed/turned willy into a whipped little boy and no matter how much his family said something it only made him dig his heels in deeper. She saw what happened with Diana and how much her and PP judgement backfired into their faces, and in the end Camilla became Charle's wife, despite their feelings (and the countries) on the matter. HM has to walk a thin line, and I think truly she was in a lose-lose situation where the Middletrash social climbers are concerned. The most she can do at this point is preserve the rest of her family's dignity as best as she can. I truly believe (with the exception of Harry) the Waleses are a lost cause and HM and PP know it.

Eugenie dress was fine it was the jacket that was a little too snug. IMO.
