Just glancing quickly around the internets, a lot of people seem to be really upset that Kate won't exit the Abbey as a real live Princess.

Isn't Cambridge what Princess May of Teck got when they were changing all the names around in a PR operation back in Olden Times?

She would have already been Queen Mary by then, though, maybe they did all the Tecks and just made hers retroactive?

All the Battenbergs became Mountbattens!

Yes I put on US TV NBC Today Show coverage and it actually seemed to distress the reporter when she read it on the Official Royal site out of the Palace, that The Queen had given them Duke and Duchess titles

I can assure that I'm not distressed, this wedding is not that important to me. I'll wake up tomorrow and life will go on as per usual. I have a very big event looming in my own life, actually.

What did irk me is the wedding coverage and the inability to escape it. I can assure you that even people of intellectual status are peeved by it. This wedding is being covered by almost every free-to-air channel, and several Pay TV ones too. :thumbsdown:

That and other more intellectual matters ie the notion of Australia becoming a republic now. But the fact of his marrying her, per se, absolutely not. This marriage is no fairytale, from what I know.

I'm looking forward to all the drama unfolding, actually. :tehe:

IMO, Those big trees cover some of the interior beauty of the Abbey and using the trees were a mistake.

The trees seem, out of place and they distract a bit.

I'm watching BBC (America) coverage it's really well done, no fawning so far. No commercials. :camera:

(but I also go back to NBC TV News coverage, but they have pesky commericals and seem gossipy, but they do have some personal tidbits, but NBC Today show like reading Katie Nicholl again ) I think she's on ABC TV? :think:

Prince William is in the car on the way, he and Harry.

The Princes are out of the car, walking into the Abbey.
William just took hat off, Harry's hat off too.
William appears happy, smiles. He and Harry now together walking down Abbey making way up to front near alter

William is greeting guests in audience and chatting to the Spencer family right now.

Now William and Harry head out to private area in back of the Abbey.

Now various Royal families arrive. Charlene Wittstock and Prince ALbert have arrived, must say Charlene looks wonderful.

Now the Middleton's are on the move and have left the hotel, the car winding the streets to the Abbey.

IMO they both appeared as if they're putting on a show. No nervousness or any loving glances - but oh well, what do I know, I just glanced @ the photos here in the forum because I just couldn't stomach watching the entire event, plus given the fact that it was 1 am here in CA. Anyway, the couple (especially) Kate looked as if she wanted to show the world that she won the biggest prize. Very smug!

William is balding too, badly. I am shocked at how prominent his baldness was. Kate still looks badly aged as well; I DO wonder if she is as young as she's been touted. Few women her age look that old at her age.

That said, I hope that she is happy since she worked so hard for this and really ended whatever chance she has at ever earning the genuine respect of those around her. Her new life will consist of dinners with pinched face courtiers, dinners with the RF who will resent her being there, her days will consist of her being surrounded by staff who will patronize her, and a lady in waiting who will despise her and then in time a husabnd who will be fed up with her and then when her family starts making demands, she will get it in the neck regularly from staff. She will always be a nothing in their eyes and if she has problems having kids, she will get it in the neck. I don't see her having much of a future or much of anything really that will give her peace of mind.

Women in ballrooms will look down on her and the men will know exactly what hse did to get that ring. Then she will have to live with a more accomplished sister-in-law or a brother-in-law who will resent her for damaging his own prospects to make a suitable marriage to someone he might wish to have a serious relationship with. Her mistakes will not be thought of as 'cute' since hse will be a grown woman and no excuses. I hope she is happy now since it won't last for long.

Yesterday just showed how non charismatic and unoriginal Kate is, She has no personality of her own, when she can't copy Princess Diana, she copies Princess Grace.

Her dress was not really a hit with many of the fashion stylist or reporters doing tv coverage I watched. They said it was safe, but nothing original/

IMO Princess Grace, did the dress better, Kate doesn't even come close and she looks very hard and old in the face. I wasn't impressed at all by Kate on her wedding day.

I think Pippa looked much better than Kate, even if her dress wasn't exactly suited for church.

Here's the article about the riderless horse, it threw off it's rider, ran past the carriage (apparently W/K noticed it and it kinda freaked her out), and ran to it's stable:

I think it's a bit creepy. Don't horses normally spook in groups, like one gets agitated and spooks which spooks others? This was only one horse.

In this story today , it does refer to PW as "the Duke..." in the Africa part of the story ! Wow. It is still calling her "Kate" too.

The Prince of Wales is not automatic! It must be given to the heir by the king. So when the queen dies and Charles becomes king, William will be Duke of Cornwall and all the other titles that the heir must have but not he will not be prince of wales until he is not given this title by his father.

Kate could also be addressed as HRH Princess William.

Quite right POW is a gift from the Soverign When Charles becomes King, William will not automatically be POW, Charles will have to give the title to William.

As for William loosing the title Prince, again that is incorrect. This is William's title now

But I am still going to call him William for short :tehe:

So, King Charles may NOT grant PW the title of PoW (especilly if Camilla has any influence. Teehee) Plus, I am pretty sure IMHO that there is NO love from PC or Camilla towards KUG. So. Who knows ? Kug may never make it to P R I N C E S S.
