People are seeing these images seems incredible and unbelievable. A few years ago we discussed here was impossible that a marriage to Kate living in nightclubs with short clothes, which the Queen would never allow it. Today I saw Carole Middleton on the counter before entering the Queen, passing in front of the Queen, unbelievable. But I also think it's wrong what did the Queen when Kate went to William, she should not have turned his face like that. This marriage is only happening because she allowed, she had ten years to stop it, with the first scandal was a nightclub for her to impose her authority, but it seems she lost much of her strength after the death of Diana and she still does not seem recovered.

I actually think Pippa upstaged her sister with that dress. To me Pippa looked a lot better than Kate even if Pippa's dress was suited more for a luncheon. Pippa looked great.

Kate looks too drawn and worn out. I could never tell if she was wearing lipstick, she has very little lips. Why does Kate lick her lips so much?
Also Kate maked odd movements with the bottom of her face.

The bra top in her dress looked like someone stuck two small boobs on a flat board.

The dress was pretty, but just OKAY, nothing spectacular, Grace Kelly already did it better.

Now since Kate's been made a Duchess, let the comparisons to Fergie begin(in a few years.)

Both Prince Harry and Pippa looked better than Kate and William. IMO

Some of the press who pre-recorded tv packages are calling her Princess, but I doubt it will last much longer since she's a Duchess.

The couple were not very vibrant, the one thing I notice about KATE is she lacks vibrancy. She seemed a bit swallowed up by her surroundings. Kate looked smaller, than her stature, she's tall but for some reason she didn't always look tall.

Some of the US press is saying Pippa looked amazingly, sexy and she outshined Kate.( Bad move some thought to wear that dress, it was sexy and upstaged her sister.)

Kate is not very charismatic, imo. She just does not have the charisma that the press has tried to place on her.

Barbara Walter's has just told the reporters that Kate is now the HRH The Duchess of Cambridge(the reporters still look shocked) hahaha they just don't get it.

I believe William really loves Kate, but he did seem nervous, still I 'm not sure this marriage will last. :William: :Kate:

I will say good luck to them, they will need it. The press is going to be hiding in every bush in the future.

Their first kiss looked awkward. I think Kate wears the pants, judging by that second kiss, she went for it. I think William holds back. She probably leads things in the b....... :William: :lips:

Kate has no vibrancy. Diana managed a huge meringue dress and a 25-foot train and still had vibrancy. Waity's wedding dress was ordinary and, honestly, looked like it had been picked off a shelf at David's Bridal.

I saw another video, of the walk back down the aisle. PW does not crack a smile. He looks rather terrified and has a look of "what have I just done?" whilst Waity tries very hard not to smirk.

I'm giving the marriage two-three years. The only question will be whether they divorce or just lead separate lives.

I AM HERE !! Did NOT watch. But I'm reviewing/finding the places to post. I just posted my opinions on K's DRESS, HAIR, BOUQUET, etc. on the correct thread. I am wanting to read all of these posts, and will later, but for now ALL IN ALL it seems WAY less SHOWY than I had imagined !

Maybe thats a good thing. K's look was demure and nice. (see more if u want on my post on the wedding dress thread).

So, no rain ?

Nice titles. (hehehe).

I thought Carole Middleton looked tres Marshalls. Really, I expected more HAUTE from her.
Its like she threw on ANYTHING.

Camilla looked nice. I just loved her hat. HM looked very nice. I LOVE yellow. . PW very nice. Pippa too plain. Prince Charles very handsome.

Everything just seemed very downplayed and much much less flashy/showy/grand than I thought it would be ! (again see my post on wedding dress thread).

Is it me ? Or, in the carriage, does K look disappointed (in the title perhaps ??).

The couple themselves was uninspiring, blank, dull, bored, and fidgety. No spark, romance, or passion. Just plain DULL! The only good thing I have to say, is that Harry looked great...as usual.

"The kiss" on the balcony = RIDICULOUS! William looked so checked out.

I agree with everything you've said about the Ceremony.

I believe that the Press is trying to override the Queen by using the media to call her Princess, the press is hoping people simply do it too, some will of course,( but the difference is Diana was Princess of Wales after marrying Charles. ) The Palace never asked that Diana be called Duchess. Kate has been given a Duchess title and the Official Palace site proclaims her Duchess. As time goes on and Kate is introduced with her Official title, the press will just have to lick their boots and cry in their soup, she's HRH The Duchess of Cambridge, no matter how they try to slice it, that title will be used. The Palace will always answer press inquiries about Kate with her title clearly Duchess.

I am SO glad this is over but am SO disappointed in the wedding itself and I kind of hoped it would change my pov around a bit so I tried, I really tried to sit back and enjoy what you guys do best, but all it did was solidify how low-end and phony baloney this thing is and kind of insulting to the pageantry of the BRF - it wasn't much to see or enjoy and super stilted and stiff.

I really don't get the 5-month secret-a-thon over a very, very plain dress that has been around forEVER. Princess Grace, as you all have stated, did it the right way. This? They're saying this morning that Pippa outshone the bride. Wrong. She looked like she was doing the walk of shame after a '70s disco night in that way too sexy for the event slinky thing. But, the media will screw it up and so on and so on.

Most women, so far, from what I've read here in the States expected more after all these months for WK to come up with. Boring, bland, dismal, dreary, funereal are the words associated with the whole bomb.

Well, although I feel like this dress is something any woman here in America could have found in her local Alfred Angleo store, I do like it. My question watching this whole thing was were did all the money go? The dress was rather plain, so was the ceremony, so what the heck did they spend millions on? However, I think that people are saying the whole thing is too plain, but then if it were truly out of this world, everyone would be complaining how they are showing off during a time of recession.

That's a valid point, Delilah and it was a lose/lose no matter what. But, the dress at least could've been an aaah! moment after all of this hype and it just wasn't. And I find it really tacky for the bridesmaid to wear a white slinky dress. It also lacked a certain JOY that I hoped for. I really did.

As for where the money went? Time will tell. Security mostly and whatever godawful parties were thrown afterward. All in all, depressing, not uplifting and I would think the British taxpayer would've rather been uplifted than seen plain jane and her TOTALLY disoriented and frightened rabbit of a groom.

So I'm watching a recorded stream right now, gathering the Prince Harry bits, and whoa, did William look effing nauseous during the vows. Then when he says I Will or whatever, he juts his chin out, like he's trying to spit it out as quickly as possible.

He also looked normal and friendly before Kate's arrival. Once she starts the walk, his seems to close off.

Side note, there was a reason for Harry looking down with his hands placed like he was at a solemn event. He supposedly got a little...excited and was using his hands to cover it up. There's a photo on D-listed of him grabbing himself like he's trying to adjust things as they leave, among others.

I don't think William is in love with Kate by reason that he would have married her years ago ... he was dithering. It clearly isn't about royal duties, since he's still not prepared to do them. :rolleyes: I think this is a marriage of convenience, or perhaps he has convinced himself that he loves her, I don't know. Whatever. :wopedo:

I think he's gay though, which explains many things to me. But that is just me and a couple of others (Yooper and one other). :whistle:

The DM has updated photos and even Kate's hands look old, dry and flaked.

delilah: good point re William not watching her walk down the aisle ... I thought that strange too. Most men are waiting for their bride and cannot wait to catch a glimpse of the woman they love. Thanks for explaining Lanvin, not sure I believe that though.

I was disappointed because I expected to see some colour! What is wrong with a bit of colour?

... when I saw Pippa and the little ones all in white, I nearly gagged in disbelief, frankly. Some colour for Pippa and the little girls wouldn't have cost any extra.

This wedding wasn't done entirely on the cheap - that was a lie. Those hideous trees cost hundreds of thousands of pounds.

All in all, most of the money went on security ... and that figures, since the royals didn't want to open up their own cheque books for this event. Waity chose to spend the budget on planting trees in the Abbey, when she should have hired a stylist and makeup artist. :whistle:

I've seen far nicer weddings and prettier brides walking past St Mary's Cathedral in Sydney on a Saturday afternoon. I think people confuse the pomp and pageantry with everything being better than any other wedding. :sigh:

Mousie: HM looks to be thinking: "ok, you can stop licking my shoes now, dog - go away!" I heard that HM despises sycophants, and I'll bet she has Waity pegged. :June: I've never seen HM stick her nose in the air like that. :-

Did anyone else notice that the Midds are acting all coy all of a sudden? :June: They just remind me of Grade A users - fakers, IMO. :rolleyes:

I think as a couple William and Kate are a bit dull. Lovely ceremony, but really not a lot of Pomp to it, it was even flatter than Pr.Edward's wedding, at least he seemed excited.

It is not really a tradition in Britain to not look as your Bride approaches it is what Kate wanted. She wanted William to be the last to see.

I know Harry looked and said something to William ( I wish I knew what ) but I never saw William look.

I think the Party dress is similar to the Wedding dress, it's very dull again. I like the crystal or diamond belt on her waist.

I think Kate's dieting makes her skin look much older than her years.

Also Kate's hip bones are sticking out under that satin, silk white party-dress at the hip. :nervous: You can see her hip bones, the girl is a STICK. She's too thin, he face has the look of someone dieting too much, it's caving in around her mouth, she's getting hanging skin there.

P.S. :camera: BBC America is running the wedding on a loop it seems, this is the third or fourth showing already. They are showing the entire day. :Kate: :William: :unsure:

I noticed it too.

I have to say, the whole thing has left me extremely disappointed. There was no regalness, no genuine pomp, no historical importance to the day. Everything was small and bland. But what I'm most disappointed in is that, as a royal watcher, this was a once in a life time event, something I've been looking forward to since I was 15 and I feel like I've been ripped off. I had always imagined planning a little party to watch the wedding;dressing up and having fun. Instead, I went to bed knowing that, as I slept, something terrible was happening and I would wake up in a world where the monarchy is one step closer to ending.

I agree, the wedding was bland. There was no magic, except for when the Queen arrived and when the Queen and Pr. Phillip road back to the Palace in that Glass windowed Coach, it looked magical, regal.

Kate lacks real charisma. Her sister had more of a spring in her step than Kate. When William and Kate were sitting together during the Ceremony they seemed more like an old tired married couple than Newlyweds.

Hi all! I finally get to post. Well I did not like Kate's second dress, As other posters mentioned you could see her hip bones. I thought it was just me noticing that.

Also, her dress was classic, but not a wow dress and not a royal dress and I wish her hair was up the make up was done differently. Overall kind of meh. The wedding has been on everyone's lips here at home and ranged from " wow what a fairytale" to " how self indulgent"

I did not like Pippa's dress, well I meaned I liked it , but felt it was too low cut. When she bent over you could see down the dress. I know it had to be approved of. I see Pippa is now getting a lot of talk and why is that they think she'll end up with Prince Harry?? He looked amazing. I also loved the Queen's outfit

Hey LP! I actually didn't watch either as I had a jam packed day. Though its been all over the news so I got filled in rather quickly. I will also admit to buying the Royal Wedding donut and it was SO tasty!!

Harry and Pippa, I don't think so at all. A pair of bothers marrying a pair of sisters seems rather odd to me. Besides I do not think Pippa is his type. I think he likes curvy blondes.

Did you get the feeling that this was a much about Pippa and the bride and groom? I really felt that she was the star of the show. I also did not like her sweater for the evening reception and the dress only highlighted how thin she has become.

PW told her that since he had to do a salute. Its one of KM way of indulging PW.

I just watched the video of them speaking their vows, Kate trying to sound posh which to me sounded so cold while PW, just going through his lines...I cannot wait when these two stopped being protected and treated like an adult coz thats when everything goes haywire...

Saw some clips and the balcony scenes.Press YOUR wedding was a dud with all the overly hype and the people waving their little flags the gold sparkle of old weddings was just not there no matter how hard you tried to fool the public and tried to recreate it in your coverage of all this.The Duchess of Laziness and the Wimp looked like actors from the Lifetime channel than actual Royals even the actors from the William and Kate movie had more sparks than those two.They also looked like two characters dressed up performing in Disneyland just pretending for the audience no real emotion.As for the Duchess of Laziness her dress was fine it looked mature since it would have been a joke her wearing something youthful and virginal for someone who's clearly "been around".As for her face oh dear it looks less puffy but still her forehead looked botoxed she looked frozen like her face was melting and in a some pictures it looked like she had no eyes just two dark holes like if you were looking into h*ll itself she looked like she belonged in a Vincent Price horror movie scary woman.As for all the people in the balcony everyone looked so uncomfortable and the fakest smiles.I think I'll give this farce of a wedding 2 maybe 2 in half stars.

Just today, I was trying so hard to mind my own business, just going about my way until one of my friends texted & sent me photos of the royal wedding, gushing about the incredible Kate. So finally, I had to asked on what was so incredible about her? And guess what? She does not know one iota about Kate except that she & William were college sweethearts and that they're in-love?!? Huh??? I shook my head @ the stupidity of it all. I'm only glad I only dealt with her via cell phone.

So much for intelligent discussion but then again, we're talking about Kate & so, the question was basically moot to be begin with.

I'm just glad that it's all over; however, I'm still avoiding the news except to watch baseball (SF Giants, yayyyy!) and movies in Netflix/In Demand. June, I've had a day today. I'm not sure if I mentioned this before but besides working on the hospital floor as a staff nurse (RN), I also work as a public health nurse in that I do home health visits to patient(s). And guess what? Every household (& I had a total of 6 patients to visit this morning) had all their television(s) blasted so loud that @ one point, I had to tell one of them to turn it down because I had difficulty hearing one of my patient's lung sounds via my stethoscope!

One of my patient was a sweet 90 year old woman who just had a hip fracture & she told me, "why dear, don't you like the royal couple?" "She's just so beautiful that she takes my breath away?" OMG, really!!! I wanted to tell her that I should get a referral for her to get her eyes check but I just smiled and the worst part of it was that she insisted that I stay & have tea with her. Talking about killing me slowly.

Anyway, I'm just a poor sucker when it comes to my patients. They're lovely (for the most part) :spy: and annoying @ times. All of these arguments & dislikes over Kate Middleton basically live inside my head & I couldn't say one single word against her because I would sound so disturb, right?!? :think:

Now, in the one with the kiss, notice she has her lips pursed. That is a sign that she doesn't want an intimate kiss - they aren't even locking lips. The other thing that irks me is that in Oz, we give our unemployed a really hard time, denigrating anyone who doesn't work when they can, and rightly so. But why has Kate been given a pass? :- Because she's dating a Prince? That just buys into the whole class system of her being better than us, and set to lower standards of integrity, personal pride. :ick:

She didn't get a full-time job because she was frightened that William would slip away from her, for no other reason. He's just as dumb and foolish for not having the personal strength and pride to find a woman with some self-respect.

June, I think Kate was raised to believe that she is destined to be a princess or @ least something greater than where she originally came from. Her mother instilled (brainwashed) that in her that she (Kate) should be the family's savior in getting them out of their humble beginnings. Carole made sure @ early on that her children would be educated differently and thus, have different sets of friends. Not that there is anything wrong with wanting to have better things for your children but I think to Carole is more of an obssession. It's been said that she came from a long line of social climbers, starting from her own grandmother that each generation should make some type of contribution to better their social standing.

Therefore, I wonder on who will she paired up her two other daughters? Opps, I meant, her other daughter & only son. I guess after seeing Jimbo in the French maid outfit, I have difficulty picturing him with a woman! :whistle:

Most makeup artist did NOT like her makeup either, they said it was too harsh and did nothing for her.

My sister thought Kate looked tired, worn and old. She couldn't believe she was 29, my sis also thinks Kate has a terrible body. She thinks Kate's body looks "nasty." She said she looks worn out, skin and bones.

No one I know is gushing, many didn't even watch it and those who did said that it was boring. They were shocked at how much William has aged., they said he looks bad. (Sorry PW fans) I actually think William looked pretty good yesterday, quite dashing until Kate showed up and flattened the air in the ABBEY. :Kate: :prokates: :sneezy:

Also, IMO :think: :- Kate's voice sounded like she was so" use to plotting her course with her mother whispering BEHIND the scenes", that she was afraid to show her real voice to the world. She didn't sound posh, she sounded like a insecure and vapid, like someone who didn't know how to voice her words properly. I hated her voice in the wedding and a few tv people commented, that her voice sounded shakey and insecure, (like she was hiding herself.)

My mother also noted that the tiara looked awful - it was too flat on her head. Look at Grace's to see the difference. Kate is clueless, IMO and her mediocrity is why she is as well liked as she is, IMO.

William jokes as a defence mechanism, to make himself popular, and so that he can insult people and get away with it, IMO. He really needs to be popular at every turn, which is going to be his downfall. He's always trying to impress Michael Middleton - I know, it was stupid, but maybe he thought MM was nervous.

Yes that veil had a polyester look, I was disappointed to see that, because I love wedding veils. I think it was done to avoid wrinkles, but why it had to look sooooooo stretchy is beyond me? I didn't care for the veil, it just looked cheap.

It was a very David's Bridal dress. I was surprised how much I disliked it when I saw it. I was expecting something fantastic that would make me so jealous, but I saw it and couldn't help but think she picked it off the rack.

I was the same, actually, and I was really disappointed when Pippa came out with the white dress. Yes, it was nice, but I knew the wedding would be bland because there wouldn't be any colour.

I watched the wedding so that I could be impressed, regardless of Kate. I was willing to forget about Kate and just watch the spectacular - it was a huge letdown. Some people seem easily pleased. :rolleyes:

I also noticed when Km was walking down the aisle with her Dad, a wedding guest (lady) with an aisle seat on the Windsor side, scowled at KM as she walked by.

I also noticed as they were saying their vows, that Peter and Freddy Windsor had smiles on their faces. I think they were the only Windsors smiling.

For years, Kate's detractors have been criticizing her for not working. Her supporters usually told us it was none of our business if her parents wanted to support her while she remained unemployed for years. But that doesn't explain why she couldn't do charity work, for example. Just because she didn't need to work to support herself doesn't mean she can't work on behalf of other people and bettering the world. But Kate doesn't do anything she doesn't absolutely have to and which doesn't benefit her in some way, which is why she will be a terrible royal. She doesn't believe in duty first. She believes in Kate first.

This gentleman is so right. William looked reluctant and like a boy. He did not look like a confident man. Kate looked like she was playing coy. I am still surprised she wasn't grinning from ear to ear like a hyena. She obviously made an effort to appear demure and serene, and of course failed.

The long faces of everyone on William's side said all that needs to be said. This was a very sad day.

I have seen a few people ask about Kate bowing her head.

William and Kate passed the Cenotaph on the ride back which honours the War dead. William (being in the Military) saluted and Kate bowed her head in respect.

I understand she needed to bow her head, but I thought the look she pasted on at those times looked too fake. It looked like: Grin, Grin, Make Innocent Solemn Face & Bow, Raise head up, Grin, Grin. That's just me being mean and nit-picky though.

For the hands thing, it made me think of that part in The Tudors where Catherine of Aragon leaves the trial. I've also seen it on occasion at debutante balls. Kinda like, the woman is so pure and has such good values she doesn't touch a man more than necessary.

It seemed too "put on" for Kate because I always associate it delicacy, demureness and a woman of strong values.

It was such a lousy and austere wedding. I felt like I was watching a funeral. They spent so much money on something so unimpressive. And add to it, it was not even worth all the hype over her dress. I bet Alexander McQueen is rolling over in his grave that Sarah created something so cheap and common.

The wedding was only the 8th most viewed TV moment, and was beaten by: Hilda Ogden’s Coronation Street exit, Princess Anne's Wedding, and the World Cup 1966 final among others.

This is done the day after the wedding because the bride needs it for the official pictures. Also the bride does not place them on the tomb personally; it's done by staff.

I think by the time the balcony presentation and booze-fest began, William was a excited to share this big event with everyone - a bit of an ego-driven thing too. It wasn't about Kate, IMO. He was the same way right before he came to Oz in Jan 2010 - really happy.

Has anyone ever been on stage or the like? It's a real high and I think that William was on a high on that balcony the other day, he just seemed to be in the clouds, but that doesn't indicate real love. He doesn't give her those "loving looks".

Performers will tell you that it's the greatest high being in front of an audience who is roaring for you. It becomes addictive and that is why many artists struggle when their careers go downward.

I think he confused happiness about life's events with happiness with Kate, and when things are not as exciting, he gets a reality check with her. I also think that during the lows, he uses her like a crutch. Just my humble opinion, based on observation. He's very moody.

Re her makeup - yes, 3 brides could have worn that mask, and they tout it like it was "natural" and that Kate wanted to look like "her". :rolleyes: OMG, do these people need their sight checked?

Kate didn't have that glow of a bride, because her face was covered with too much thick makeup. Princess Mary's face was near-perfect, IMO. She looked stunning, elegant, regal and classically beautiful on her wedding day - best royal bride, apart from Diana and of course, Grace, IMO.

And, Mary's veil and tiara sat perfectly at the BACK of her head. She also wore cream, not white, which was fitting. Waity still considered herself a virgin. :rolleyes:

No, I don't like Mary, but did think she looked beautiful and perfectly understated on her wedding day.

There are lots of wrinkles around her eyes. You can see that the make up is too thick around the eyes when she moves her skin.

When I used to be a dancer whenever I performed on stage I would get a buzz from the energy of the audience. I see that in Kate all the time and notice it whenever William has a crowd around him.

Kate seems to get a manic high which I think she finds intoxicating and is on a whole other level to which I got.

William's buzz is on a lower level but is definitely still a high. I notice that his demeanour changes and his cockiness and ego emerges.

Thanks Mousie, well said ... and that is exactly why I have always believed that William wants to be King. He wants it all, the perks, the adulation, the attention, but he just wants it all on HIS terms, without the responsibility. Huge difference to not wanting it at all. He is not a reluctant star, at all, IMO.

Kate is intoxicated IMO because she is immature and doesn't respect the reason for the adulation - it's the position, not her. :bored:

Kate has not achieved in her own right, so she confuses all this with it being owed to her, IMO.

What's interesting is we got to watch Daniel and Victoria at the reception for a bit, it was romantic watching Daniel give his speech and their first dance was so cute. It's like night and day when comparing them to Kugly and Wugly.
