You know, the worst part about it, that they don't have ANYTHING to back it up. They don't have a HUGE backstory of giving back or public service or stuff like philanthropy or scholarship programs. They want the egotism, but not the history of service. They do not have the history of building business, or contributing, or making any kind of history that would give them ANYTHING to stand on. If Dorothy had ordered Carole to get involved in construction, riding the feminist wave, Carole might have had a reputation for having built half a village or city and Kate would have a fantastic example and actual social standing that meant something.

They weren’t even churchgoers like the rest of the RF until they were seen emulating them at a church service one Christmas near to the wedding date. Kate was even hastily bundled in to a church to be christened just days before the wedding.

I kind of remember this - she wasn't even confirmed and yes, family never even saw the inside of a church until then. Ghastly, hypocritical and ill-bred family. Dorothy, wherever you are, you certainly were a disgrace as a woman, mother and grandmother. |

How silly. They paid for posh schools to foist their kids into posh families. Not because they wanted their kids to get a genuine education and make a great living for themselves.

The Midds might be gauche, but it is telling that there isn't any other family that would have him. As a prince and heir, he should have had promiennt families throwing their daughters at them and oddly, that never happened. Very telling about William himself really.
He isn't a businessman and Kate has no business looking down on her family. It is so tacky to be ashamed of one's family.

The Midds have allegedly dumped all their relatives who are quite bewildered as ma Midd allegedly used to love having a ‘good old knees up with them’. There was a channel 4 programme about them just before the wedding. A lovely working class bunch of people including a stripper whose finale was a strip with a crown on her head, a hairdresser, a fish and chip shop worker and beyond the pale Gary Goldsmith etc etc.

I honestly think the Midds would be more welcome socially if they did not try to ignore their origins. Nothing wrong with being working class and there's nothing wrong with being the descendant of coal miners. In fairness, much of the Southern aristocracy in Britain is the descendant of mistresses/illegitimate kids and/or new money that did so well that they went from knighthoods to Baronets to Barons to Earls/Dukes. It's not like ALL Of them are in fact the descendants of kings via perfect legitimate descent. It's not like there would be a huge stigma associated with being new money or status, if they didn't insist on acting like they were entitled to what they want (marriages with titles and pots of money) just by right of having a sister married to a prince and were allowed to pretend that they came from the higher level that they did NOT originate from.

You know, if one thing is a huge shame, is how ashamed they are of their working relatives. Carole and the rest of the core family, they made the terrible mistake of thinking that not working and have posh degrees made them upper class, but it doesn't. Tons of people have degrees and in my view, the dolts don't seem to realize that they are not entitled to anything other than what they have earned through honest work. Honestly, if William were so 'normal,' he would be where he is right now. There is no way he would want to be connected to someone who has an uncle mixed up with sex/drug trafficking, he would have dumped her on the spot.
