The entire economy is collapsing and Meg and Harry are making their big debut via a self-glorifying docuseries and this is costing 88 million. Makes me sick. With that 88 million they could have ended up buying rights to a slew of stories and produced them and be raking it all in. That much I know. I do not think Harry is aware of the magnitude of all that waste. I would have bought the rights to hundreds of stories and be merrily producing them like none other and I would be able to rake in the bucks and get nominations and get press coverage.

Aside: Oh, the Toronto media presence? Remembering there were like 3 people who only half-cared? www.cbc.ca/news/entertainment/harry-meghan-docuseries-takeaways-1.6677749What we learned from Netflix's docuseries about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Social Sharing Facebook Twitter Email Reddit LinkedIn Volume I of the widely anticipated docuseries was released Thursday morning
Jenna Benchetrit · CBC News · Posted: Dec 08, 2022 11:58 AM ET | Last Updated: 8 hours ago Here are five takeaways from the first volume of the series.
Harry says Royal Family thought harassment was 'rite of passage'British paparazzi wanted Meghan's Toronto neighbours to spy on her As Meghan continued working as an actor on the show Suits in Toronto, she says British paparazzi arrived in the city to follow her. Some of them tried to pay her neighbours to install livestream cameras that looked into her backyard, she said.
Meghan says she complained of the persistent stalking to the police, but was told there was nothing to be done, "because of who you're dating." To ward off the photographers, Meghan travelled with a driver trained in evasive driving methods.
"It felt like all of the U.K. media descended upon Toronto," she said.
Prince Harry says royal household plays 'dirty game,' leaking and planting stories But that wasn't all, according to Silver Tree, a friend of Markle's and a producer on Suits. Some paparazzi tried to buy call sheets (which list when an actor will be present on set for particular scenes) from production assistants so that they could locate when and where Markle would be shooting Suits.
Tree added that the paparazzi would break into the show's trailer area, forcing the production to cage in all the trailers.
"I don't think anyone knew how to manage that new normal," Tree said.... Meghan criticizes estranged half-sister Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland, is interviewed for the series, and Meghan lauds her for how she handled the frenzy of media attention. Meghan says her father's side of the family "acted differently."
She singled out her estranged half-sister, Samantha Markle. The former actress said that she hadn't seen her half-sister in over a decade when she began talking to the tabloids about Meghan.
"It suddenly felt like she was everywhere," Meghan said of the elder sibling, adding that there had been no "fallout" between them, because they weren't close enough to have one.
"I don't know your middle name. I don't know your birthday," Meghan said. "You're telling these people you raised me, and you coined me Princess Pushy?"

Toronto police officers did end up going to see her “over concerns that her suddenly sky-high public profile could be a security threat,” ET Canada reported in November of that year. But according to Markle, they didn’t do much.
In the second episode of the Netflix series, Markle described her plea to Toronto police for help. She told them she was being followed by paparazzi.
“I would say to the police: If any other woman in Toronto said to you, ‘I have six grown men who are sleeping in their cars around my house and following me everywhere that I go, and I feel scared,’ wouldn’t you say that was stalking?”
However, she said the police told her there was nothing they could do because of “who you’re dating.”

The 38-year-old royal had seen some of his previous relationships fall apart due to the intense scrutiny that surrounded him. Harry admitted to having some fears about pursuing a romance with Markle — but he was still determined to give it a go. Harry also admitted that he can see strong similarities between Markle, 41, and his late mother, who died in a car crash in August 1997, aged 36. “She has this same passion, she has this same empathy, she has this same confidence … she has this warmth about her,” he said about Markle. Harry ultimately decided to relocate to the U.S. with Markle in an effort to keep his family safe. “Especially after what happened to my mum. You know, I didn’t want history to repeat itself,” he said.

www.msn.com/en-ca/news/canada/meghan-markle-complains-toronto-police-ignored-her-protection-request-in-netflix-doc/ar-AA153zRM Harry & Meghan: Meghan’s mom speaks out Markle’s mother Doria Ragland says the last five years since she met and married Prince Harry have been amongst the most “challenging” of her life.
In the series, she recalled the moment her daughter told her she was first dating the prince, and admitted she was stunned by the news.
“I do (remember), when she told me we were on the phone and she said, ‘Mummy I’m going out with Prince Harry’ and I started whispering, ‘oh my god.'”
Ragland reflected on the first time she met Harry, gushing over his looks and pointing out how “happy” they looked as a couple.
“And I remember when I first met him too, he was a six-one handsome man with really great manners. He was just really nice and they looked really happy together, like he was the one,” she said.More on Doria and her not so squeaky clean persona: "I'm mailing you a copy of the peoplefinders' report I ran on Doria Ragland.
It does indeed indicate that there is a criminal record on Doria, and it gives a case number. But it looks like all other details are blocked.
Not sure how you get to do this with a public record, unless she was able to have it expunged.
It could be for anything, honestly-- even a traffic violation! Or it could be much more serious."... She may have paid to have it expunged. That's why there's a record of the conviction, but no public record available as there would be ordinarily.
I ran the case number as a civil law search as well, but came up with nothing. And yet, something is clearly there.

Aside: Off topic, but Ragland opened herself up to future scrutiny...
It's not clear-- it appears as though Doria was charged with some kind of crime, but when I checked, I was told that it was a traffic citation of some kind. There is a public record of Doria being charged with a crime, but it appears to have been a traffic issue. However, there may be something more serious, but public records don't bear this out specifically. What I remember is that there was a "break," like an erasure, in the records I accessed. Sometimes, convictions are expunged, and not available in public records-- even if the person went to prison. Occasionally, an expunged conviction can be noticed by the space it leaves in the public record. However, what also indicates a possible prison sentence for Doria is the apparent separation where Meghan went to live with her dad, who appears to have gotten official custody for a number of years. But because those records would have involved a minor child, they would certainly be sealed. There were also other clues in the remarks of Meghan herself, although these were in her earlier website, which was erased from the internet once she became officially engaged to Prince Harry.

Meg was being followed by the press, not anonymous men who were likely criminal traffickers. It's not like Meg was being followed as an anonymous woman by men who had no definable profession. Second, Meg is a notorious liar and might be lying for the sake of dramatic purposes. The press are not traffickers and it is likely that the police were aware of what was going on and had checked the situation out closely.

The palace shouldn't escalate the situation by responding or retaliating. No point. Starving Harry of drama is the best way of reacting and I do not think there is any point to it. It will just feed Meg's megalomaniac persecution complex.

I was thinking about how he "should" respond, but thinking no response would be great - cut off the oxygen; don't feed the flames. But... cut them off cold...don't say anything, just cut off the lines of communication and confer with the lawyers and parliamentarians.

I think Charles has already cut communication and is going to talk with lawyers once they end up coming back from Sandringham. Realistically it is clear that Harry is a lost cause and there is no point to pretending that he will grow beyond his crazy mother.

Although it would be good to see a response from the Palace, I agree that no response is even better. Narcissists have issues with the silent treatment.
There is no going back for Harry. The next instalment will seal the fate even further.
From many of the media articles people have turned against them. They are certainly not getting praised for the soap opera. Netflix should have invested the money in talent rather than the duo.

Time for streaming stations and studios to stop giving money to uneducated and untrained celebs. I don't care how much money they pull in, studios need to stop giving contracts based on celebrity status. George Clooney gets funding to fund his vanity projects, DiCaprio consorts with criminals to fund his films despite being FLUSH with cash and resources, and now this. Netflix should have used their brains and I hold the view that the palace pulled strings to get this set deal set up. Now after two years and millions of dollars, they are getting publicity, but all the worst publicity and no one at Netflix will recover from this.
