Posting this video as it's the only time I've seen HM having to give a curtsey. When she was a princess greeting a King. youtu.be/9ZJPSwpTPLg

^That was lovely to watch. I just happen upon these videos and other links through searching other items. I am glad you liked it. I don't believe I ever saw HM curtseying and of course at the time of this video she was not a Queen. Oh, when royalty knew how to conduct themselves...

That's good news! Thanks for posting it. My estimation of her has really gone up, due to a sincere effort to be helpful! Queen Louise of Sweden (the former Louise Mountbatten, in another thread) was a volunteer nurse in WW1 - a very democratic and practical woman who with her spouse, the equally down to earth and democratic King Gustaf VI Adolf, backed a lot of reforms for what was a previously rigid conservative Swedish court. Kudos to Sofia!

You know, Sofia isn't some parlor lady royal, but she is a streetfighter and it is the streetfighters that are the best leaders. Princess Madeleine or any of the others have not been doing what Sofia has been doing, no that snowflake is apparently too delicate to pitch in and contribute. I do not think that Sofia should EVER be looked down on as second rate EVER again.

And at least Sofia has remained in Sweden doing all she can- yes, Madeleine doesn't seem too interested in what is going on in her home country, despite being away from it to stay where her husband's work is. With great privilege comes responsibility - previous Swedish princesses and Queens have shown great loyalty and committment to their country, but some, it seems from the outside, have not. Just my humble opinion.

I think that if Madelaine doesn't want to live in Sweden, she should lose her HRH and basically lose her taxpayer allowance. As for other status, she should be made to choose; legally recognized and reinforced title or plain citizenship. She has no business having both and giving back to neither. She really doesn't seem to do much for American citizenry and it is clear that she does next nothing for Sweden. Sofia was on the surface a horrific choice, but now she has trained and works as a cleaner and assistant and it is clear to me that she is well wroth the chance that the Swedish nation gave her. She is bringing huge credit to her reputation and really adding BIG TIME substance to her title. She is stepping back into an infected environment and it is clear that she is aware of the dangers, but still marches back in. So while the rest of them are living idyllic little lives (Victoria and Daniel don't even wear masks when they go out) she trained and went willingly into the fire-pit of COVID.
THIS IS HOW ROYALTY IS SUPPOSED TO BE!!!!

Victoria of Sweden - think there was more about her that never got told, actually. Yes, a very Prussian woman (granddaughter of Wilhelm I) but was an artistically gifted woman; photographer, sculptor, and animal-lover. From what I have read and learn thus far, she was active in child-welfare societies and setting up animal sanctuaries, and was instrumental in securing passage to Sweden of certain Romanovs. Apparently was friends with Irene and Elisabeth of Hesse, both maternal aunts of who would become her son's 2nd wife (Lady Louise Mountbatten). Also, her mother, Louise of Baden, was friends with Princess Alice of GB, who was Louise's maternal grandmother. That's what I have found thus far. I think in a lot of ways, she got a bad rap. Certainly a complicated individual.
