Kate wanted it because her low rent mother wanted the power, money and fame. Lol what power? The fame but yet she doesn’t even come close to Diana’s fame and then the money isn’t she on Charles payroll?

Kate wanted social status and pots of money; an aristocrat really would not have her and so a moron prince was her best bet. I also think that William was her best bet since she could get to him and she couldn't get to Harry via the military. Thing is, that William is such a dud and despite the title, she is still on a low budget.
I honestly believe that William has reached a point where he is unable to handle much of anything at this point in time. He lost Harry and since the royal world is shrinking in terms of significance, it is clear that he is going crazy with that realization.
There won't be many royal tours in the future because no one will have any time to take to entertain the royals. EVERYONE will be struggling to function after this pandemic ends and it won't be for a long time. There will be a TON of burials, endless memorials, and there will be a lot of horribly traumatized doctors. Nurses will need a ton of therapy as well and then there will be the struggle to adjust to a drastically changed perspective. Then politicians might actually decide to cooperate and there will be endless discussions over how to handle building an economy based on something more sustainable, realistic, and taking certain things seriously that should have been dealt with a long time ago. Then there will be a lot of short tempers and no one at the top, specifically the non-ornamental heads of states, will not have any real energy or patience for the asinine ramblings of Queen Maxima or the businesslike pretenses of Queen Letizia as she looks condescending. There is no way that any President will have energy to receive and entertain and pretend to take CP Frederick seriously as he rambles. I also believe that tempers will be short and there won't be any polite restraint when it comes to holding back as some airhead royal tries to manipulate their way into actual serious conferences. I also believe that Harry leaving that mess has removed him from a bad situation.
William seems that he isn't able at all to cope and it is clear that he is simply unable to handle the realities that the HRH and "Future Future King" status he holds onto so desperately is something that loses more and more power by the year. When he was eighteen, everyone thought he was special and that he would do amazing things. Now at the middle of his life, he has done nothing and at this point, no one is interested in what he 'might' do, but what he should be doing. He has nothing ot stand on. He is like a near forty year old who wasted his life and chances in life and at a point where he should be a larger than life fixture on the world stage, he is little more than a male socialite. If not for his title and family wealth, he would be a shiftless grafter. He literally cannot fathom that no one is going to come and be the substance so he can continue to be the star without accomplishing anything. He is flailing about, unable to process that his previously effortless life is over and he has nothing to give anyone at the top any reason to do anything for him and he has nothing to offer a nation that is desperate for any kind of leadership or any kind of help. He has no connections to help, he has no connections that would give his people anything. Why would any leader with anything to help with, bother with him? What has he done for anyone during the good times, to want to help him in his bad times?
Now that Harry is gone, William has literally no one to use to look good. If he had helped his brother, at least protected him, Harry would be his most loyal asset. Yet this dolt drove his own brother out and it is disgusting that William still lashes out. Who would want to help someone who is likely to turn on them when it is convenient for his PR?

William i think has realize his status and title doesn’t mean anything in the age we’re living now. Maybe 3 years ago but that’s over. Also Harry has proven you don’t need a title to get things done. I truly believe he is in dismay about Harry leaving him and not kissing his butt. Like you said Harry would have been his most loyal asset but because of greed and jealously now he doesn’t have his brother. Wow thanks for the other comments. I haven’t realize that royalty has lost interest on the world stage that being an HRH just doesn’t matter anymore. Crazy!

^^ Totally agree, dear. If Wills did protect Harry and his choice (no matter if H's choice good or bad) - Harry would be grateful to WIlls till the end. WIlls and his team (I mean K and C) are stupid. I still can't believe they thought they could smear Harry and Harry will be ok with it. They could have the best and the most loyal supporter but they decided to drag him through the mud.
Funny how Wills changes everything. Royal family always saved their royal members, not their consorts. Wills preferred his mummy in law.

Harry has always been loyal even when Will hid behind him and got away with everything. Now that he’s gone William can’t and we saw with the documentary and Eartshot he really doesn’t make waves or an impact on the global stage. The Covid tour was just bad all around. Like he can’t rely on his title because his title can only take him so far. Can’t demand respect just by birth anymore. Royalty is wearing off and even more so now with the world in shambles. They aren’t in demand anymore like they were back in 2011-2013 years. Harry exposed that royalty is just in name only.

Willy Boy has a serious problem. And that would be The Viper.
William has a serious problem and that is William. If William had chosen to take responsibility for his life when he had the chance (which he did) and decided to stop the self pity, he would have been far more ahead than anyone else. William is the reason that William is not as respected and revered as he might otherwise be. I do not see William as some victim of a conspiracy or of even his parents. He had plenty of resources to make something of his life and made the decision to throw it away. No one forced William to troll the bars or clubs or second rate cheap resorts because the first rate resorts would not have him there if Kate was by his side. He held himself back and sabotaged himself. It is clear to me that he has spent his best years searching for something that he will never truly have (a normal mainstream middle class life) and he will never really fit in there, but he persists in living like some aristocratic country gentleman who has no worldly obligations. It is clear that he really cannot comprehend the magnitude of the life that he threw away throughout his late teens and twenties and it is clear that he didn't realize just what he will never get back. He could have made much different decisions and it is clear that he chose to live life with the expectation that he would never have to give back.
With Harry gone, another piece of his carefree life is gone and it is clear that he is unable to cope. His brother was part of that carefree dynamic and now Harry has a full life of his own and it is clear that he isn't coming back to go back to being William's PR whipping post. Like most immature people, William is abusing the victim instead of looking at himself as the source of his alienation from his brother. Or telling his wife to keep her filthy hands to herself. He could have still had Harry at his side of he would for once give back some of the loyalty that Harry has always given to him. Harry owes his brother nothing and it is clear that William refuses to accept that. It is a shame that William was not raised to give back to those who help and protect him and it is clear that he has no idea how to reciprocate anything that is ever given to him. He simply does not have it in him. How regrettable really. I also believe that William will continue to wreck his brother's reputation, which will not stick since no one cares about that dolt's opinions outside of the brainwashed acolytes and the tabloids that make money off of giving him adulation.

If he tries to ruin his brother’s reputation THats not going to work. Beyond the royal baby boomer stans Harry is legit a popular royal and showed the world that without the work titles are meaningless.

I think the Boomer stans are the most psychotic. They really believed that Diana was some eternal victim and that the princes are still 'their boys' and it is clear that few of them comprehend that William and Harry are not boys anymore and were never 'their boys.' I remember reading on here (or CB) that a mourner during the Diana funeral week shouted out to Prince Philip to look after 'the boys' and Philip shot back "what do you think we've been doing?" to the dolt stan who said that. I mean, there are those who saw Harry/William walk in that funeral procession and sincerely think they 'know' 'the boys' well enough to know what is best for them. I mean really, it's such a psycho mindset. They don't know those princes and never will. The older generation (that is dying off) were upset, but didn't idealize Diana as much and she died when I was a teenybopper and I was kind of blase about it since it wasn't heavily impacting my life as far as I was concerned.

William doesn't know how to handle Harry, and he's not going to change anytime soon. Harry is the designated family scapegoat. Easy to bash when he's there, but a little harder now that he's flown the coop.

They have been conditioned to think that these royals are the greatest and that they don’t stir politics so they are safe when in fact they don’t work hard for anything because everything is handed to them. It’s why I think William is having a shock of his life that he is not commanding respect and attention. How is it that Harry a mere spare gets more Support from people who actually influence the world?

Exactly. Harry is getting hits, press, and positive attention and it is clear that the world has moved beyond William since it's not like William has ever really contributed anything at all. He had so much hype and adulation that he never really learned that he has to pay his dues. William became so fixated on his role as future King that he failed to develop any kind of life outside of that expectation. Harry now has a life outside of being the preassigned whipping post that it is clear that William is unable to function without Harry taking all the bad press off of his back. The recent mess shows that William is not going to be much of a monarch when the time comes and William was not taught 'process' he was taught to expect it all to be pulled together for him with no thought of giving back. It is also clear that William is unable to cope without Harry to be the scapegoat. Harry left and moved on and William has made one bad choice after another. Then the silly COVID 'tour' ended up being a hysterical flop and even though the tour was supposed to last a few days, it ended up ending after less than 36 hours and both scuttled back to England after incurring the wrath of the public and politicians in blatantly violating all the rules in place to prevent the additional spread if infection. Neither Harry or Meg were around to take the blame. They can't be blamed for William's bad choices or Kate's laziness. Now WK are unable to process the reality of this situation.

You hit the nail on the head they can’t process or grasp the reality of their situation. William always had Harry as his whipping boy but now that he is gone when he gets called out it’s his fault no one but his own. He has the media hyping him up but the public opinions matter more than the media who can turn their backs on you. I really think William have realized that being a titled future king isn’t going to cut it in the world we are living in. I’ve always hated how he treated Harry when Harry to his fault was very much loyal to his brother and his brothers wife.

If William comprehended the reality of his situation and grasped it, he would freak out and would end up creating a situation where he would have to be checked into a hospital. He would go stark raving nuts and he would also realize just how far gone things are for him. At this point in his life, he is on the cusp of obliterating any chance of redeeming himself with his own set and soon the press will start working on him regularly. William let a consort drive out a blood prince from his own nation and it is clear that the rest of the set is seething in rage at it. Harry was more than just his brother, he was the future Duke of York and future brother of a King. Also, Charles as King would make Harry the son of a King as well and that should have meant enough to William to get William to get his wife under control or NOT marry Kate in the first place. I also think that he might reach a point where he looks around and sees nothing but enemies surrounding him. William might not think it's a big deal, but if a blood prince can get driven out due to mistreatment, it means that no noble is secure and if the nobles refuse to forgive one thing, it is anyone who creates any kind of insecurity. Diana had the majority of the establishment on her side until she advocated overthrowing Charles and it is clear that William has likely reached the tipping point; there is no way that anyone feels secure if Harry can be driven out in order to have any kind of stable life and now everyone in the upper echelons is vulnerable to an overthrow. It means that if Kate feels inclined to take on a member of the nobility with William's support, she will and torment them until they are driven out as well. What is stopping William from doing the same to say, the Duke of Norfolk?

You can tell she regrets that. William doesn’t want to admit it but deep down he needs Harry. As the future King he can’t just rely on his status and title any longer. We’ve seen it time and time again in other royal households how they are all working and can’t be lazy and rely on their title. It worked 20 years ago but not anymore. The world has changed esp with the pandemic.
