“ I do believe that with the right skill set, she would have broken new ground and ended up being able to really, truly end up setting a new standard.” - Like what?
Also what’s wrong with Mary moving into the palace?
I agree with you that whole being famous because I have a title is ridiculous and it shows that they don’t want to put in the work. It’s as if they want to do it the easier way. It’s why none of them will never a legacy that lasts generations or make a positive impact/influence with their title.

Mary moving into the palace is basically Mary being a leech. She is a girlfriend and it is NOT her place to move in with her boyfriend into a taxpayer supported palace. It's all about boundaries. "' I agree with you that whole being famous because I have a title is ridiculous and it shows that they don’t want to put in the work. It’s as if they want to do it the easier way. It’s why none of them will never a legacy that lasts generations or make a positive impact/influence with their title. "" It is also why they will never get the respect and gravitas that they crave so much. William is DYING to be able to make a speech about something serious, but he will never be invited mainly since William has done nothing of substance and he still fixates on press coverage rather than just getting on with things. He keeps making every little thing in his life a big deal and it is clear that he refuses to do things that would make him more acceptable in those circles he craves to be treated as an equal in. It is also clear that he is someone who could have been mixing with Putin or Jinping, but he did not do what he should have been doing in his twenties.
I honestly regret that William threw himself away on low rent bars and dance clubs and jet set resorts when he would have been better off doing the work with the struggling or even actually do his duty as an officer in the military and look after the men under his command. I mean really, after completing officer training, he should have been LIVING on that base and staying away from the clubs and looking after the men who were under his jurisdiction as their commanding officer. I mean really, clubbing with Kate was something that should have been the last priority on his mind and it irritates me that even during the time as an officer, he was in London two-thirds of the time and ignoring the men under his command.

I 100% agree with you on William. He should be doing more instead of hiding behind the sycophant media and making every little thing a big deal! With him and Kate it’s should be actions not telling the world you will do it. Just do it! Secondly these modern royals all crave to have that special royalty magic that Diana and even Grace had but they should know Diana was more royal than she was a celebrity! She had boundaries and she did her work and made her title mean so much to the point she was above her HRH title!
What do you think will happen to the BRF after The Queen is gone? None of these current royals to me have what it takes to let it continue and or have the respect. Always rather play celebrity.

Thing is, that alliances and ties are not automatically transferable. HM is partially immune, but now even she is getting zinged by the media and who knows who else. William parties and plays at being a country gentleman and it is clear that William is unaware that if things go up a creek for him, he will not have rescuers. He will not at all be someone who anyone will either want to rescue and if he gets into a mess, the media will not help him since their job is to sell papers, not assist him in actually getting out of the mess he is writing about. Sophie is too busy grooming her daughter into being a Victorian dolly and keeping her son out of the public eye and it is clear that she is salivating over being a royal duchess and grubbing for more money. It is clear that Sophie is bitter despite her already good life and it is clear that Andrew is dead-weight. Realistically Andrew will remarry and it is clear that Fergie is in the running. Charles is fixated on crowning Camilla and his love for Camilla leaves him with a horrible blind spot. That family is a terrible mess and there is no way that the taxpayer should support it since there won't be much taxpayer money to be had since the economy is literally on the verge of a complete and utter collapse.
As for celebrity, celebrity coverage has done nothing to benefit the nation since royals in their respective countries have not at all been able to help in any concrete way. Videos are not enough and the majority of them have been jet setting as if nothing is amiss. They have not helped the politicians in getting things helped and none of them have put a cent in the coffers of the treasury to help the government keep things going at least financially.

You know I was imagining and honestly I think the era of royalty and the importance of it has truly died during the pandemic. I mean it was dying but I think the pandemic put a stamp on it and shown how utterly useless the royals are. How does zoom calls help in anyway? I get being safe and not exposing yourself but they couldn’t at least sent baked goods, donate money, done readings for children? Like you said helped the politicians and the leaders of the countries to implement plans that benefits the country as a whole!
If this were to happen during the 80s I bet you Diana would have gone out there or done something more impactful than video calls.
Off topic but I never realized the impact Grace had as a princess. Besides all the great points you pointed out, I was reading and it seemed before Diana she was the most well known princess and Monaco was very popular because of her rivaling the BRF. Talk about impact. Although I wish she did more instead of galas Ect... she did a lot for Monaco culture but could have travelled a lot more to help charities in other countries so the two countries could work together.
Another off topic but I was reading about Andorra which is a principality without a princely or royal family. There are two co princess which is the president of France and the Bishop of Urgell in Spain. I was thinking with my imagination that if we’re to make this country into a royal country with competent leaders or a princess who does the job perfectly well I wouldn’t be shocked if the impact would be more immense than the BRF. Also they could possibly be titled in France too which I would love to see while I’m living lol!!!

If Diana had been alive, this situation would have been her element and I am certain that she would have been doing something to boost mor@le. I sometimes think that the real flaw that Grace had, was her determination to cut herself off from a wider world that she used to be part of. Partying in Persepolis with the Shah (of Iran) or indulging in other pleasures really wore her down and likely embittered her. I think the loss of her acting career was traumatic in that like most actors, she had serious unresolved issues and it is clear that she didn't want to face them. Performing helped her escape those issues for a while and regrettably she failed (like most entertainers) to just face them, deal with them, and then grow up and take responsibly and mature. What irks me is how so many royals are fixated on the latest trendy causes despite the fact that they do not really know how to ask educated questions of REAL experts and instead hold asinine little 'conferences' and pretend to be actual delegates or heads of state. It does nothing for their people and quite honestly, it is a slap in the face to REAL delegates and REAL ambassadors. I honestly do think these morons really do believe that they are being taken seriously during these 'conferences.' They go off, arrive via private jet and go to plush hotels and then proceed to make complete and utter fools of themselves sitting in these rooms and making pronouncements and silly speeches. Then they go off thinking that they will then order governments what to do and then it doesn't happen, but they got to brag about being at a 'world conference' and get a cheap shot of good PR for themselves.

Like you’re just a royal prince or princess you still have to work hard at your “job” and not just rely on a merely insignificant title. I’m sick of the whole hopping on trendy causes, podcasts, zoom calls, like honestly how does all of this help the common man? How does this boost mor@le? How does this help the country? I’m really confuse. The fact that many celebrities have done more during this pandemic than the royals really does show that royalty isn’t meaning and hasn’t mean much. I also dislike the whole “let’s get PR points for our good work”. How does good PR translate to real life people and impact? Do you think if Grace would have done more humanitarian work during her tenure as princess she would have rivaled Diana in terms of impact as a princess? Part of me wants a French princess lol my own imagination of course

Given her limited education and her complete lack of interest in really delving in, I am certain that she would have been less than impactful. As for anyone being a French princess, that would take a TON of training and a TON of discipline given the amount of privilege that a French princess would have access to. Thing is, that it would be tabloid heaven and it would take HUGE self sacrifices and HUGE strict boundaries. I do believe that a French royal family would cause media havoc and thing is, that the French are as proud as the devil at times and a French princess would be a HUGE target for marriage hunting social climbers. I think the biggest problem dealing with royalty and celebrity is the issue of education. Royals want power, but they do not want to put in the kind of training and education that anyone in power has. An art degree and then playtime until marriage is a complete joke and if royals emulated politicians, they would be far more respected.
Just like in Hollywood, they love to get together and wear their best stuff and celebrate each other on a regular basis. Not a month goes by when they are not hosting one another at a new gala event.

Diana was also limited in education but she made up with it through her empathy and knowing human beings than most people. But wasn’t it at the time she was the most famous and loved princess of her age before Diana came along? Or am I wrong?
“Royals want power, but they do not want to put in the kind of training and education that anyone in power has. An art degree and then playtime until marriage is a complete joke and if royals emulated politicians, they would be far more respected.” - This is what irks me! Like Diana when she wanted to be a diplomat I read it and side eyed it because Diana made more of an impact through her humanitarianism and garnered much respect from politicians and other leaders. If royals want to be taken seriously on the global stage and not just a tabloids fodder then they should get the proper education needed! Also annoyed with Hollywood too. I’m glad people are seeing that celeb culture and putting these people on a high pedestal is bad!
What will it take for a woman to become a French princess affectionately? I mean we know that France is a republic and will not restore their monarchy. But what would it take for a female to become a French princess and be seen as such? Get a title from the French President? Marry into a small principality close to France? Get a roving ambassador role? The impact would be huge though don’t you think?

Diana did not have that temperament and did not have the emotional and psychological stamina. She was not interested in settling down into cozy nights studying and making anything of herself and it is clear that she never even managed to stop her bulimia. As a princess consort, she had already been a roving ambassador for the British nation and it is clear that she didn't see that. If she had stopped listening to the press and started focusing on what actual experts were telling her, I am sure that she would have been able to still remain married and still be future Queen Consort. She was insane to think that she would be able to use public pressure on heads of state to get a concrete position or manipulate Tony Blair into giving her a role (a role that she ironically had as wife of the Prince of Wales) and that role would be one of actual substance. She was NOT entitled to any kind of concrete role and I bitterly regret that she introduced celebrity activism where instead of just protests and petitions, that celebs actually sincerely believe that they are entitled to and qualified to hold actual office and use that office as a vehicle for 'social justice.'

Same with the celeb activism too! I am all for those who are in the public eye who take activism seriously but 9/10 times they do it for PR boost. Except for Jolie though.
Diana like you said was a great roving ambassador for Britain and a great humanitarian she should have stayed in that lane since she made a bigger impact doing that.
Do you think that since Diana’s death the British royal family will never have the popularity and love they had when Diana’s when in the firm? Seems like not even her children have the same support she did.
Concerning a “French Princess” how would a woman become one without a French monarchy though?

Diana made a huge misstep in thinking that she would use her popularity to get what she wanted out of life and other people; she got the ring, got adulation, but she was wrong to think that she had a right to use it as a weapon against someone who had been protecting her all along, that is, HM and others. She would just NOT STOP going after Charles in private and then in public, Panorama, she crossed that line into outright treason. Like a celebrity, she thought that good press meant that she had a right to what she wanted and I think near the end of her marriage, she wanted that crown for herself. She made choices that sent that message and she was accommodated in that marriage in almost every angle. Like a celebrity, she never did THINK that maybe there are limits and just being a highly pampered consort would be one of them. She was not living in a trailer and was not poor, and she already had the position of riving ambassador as Princess of Wales. She was not without ANYTHING in life and she was not at all without any kind of help along the way. A lot of celebrities think that wealth and fame and looks is qualification enough, but there are MANY positions you can't just market your way into. She had no right to try to overthrow Charles and despite the adultery (that she engaged in as well), she had a remarkably fortunate life. If she had not tried to overthrow Charles, she would have had the title, lovers, money, fame, and adulation and would still be alive. There is no reason that she had it rough.
With celebs, they literally do not know how to stop. These days there are entertainers who actually believe that they should be present at the signings of treaties and should be involved in high level negotiations and it is clear that many of them think they should be able to skip over education and training and dues that actual diplomats and politicians pay. I bitterly regret that Diana inaugurated this celebrity activism culture and made the choice to think it was a GREAT idea to overthrow Charles and replace Charles with her son.

100% agree with you! A otolaryngology misstep but she her legacy is intact and her she herself will always be bigger than the BRF combined. Liechtenstein is a principality. A beautiful country. Say a woman married a prince there and became a very popular princess, and basically putting Liechtenstein on the map! What would you want that princess to do to have that magic of royalty and work hard and not be a celebrity royal?

I'm sure many with European ancestry can find links somehow to royalty or the nobility.

At the risk of being completely flamed, I am fed up with hearing about Diana. She's been dead for nearly THIRTY years and it is clear that her life near the end of her life was not a good one. She was a deeply messed up woman and I am sick of her self destructiveness being blamed on everyone but her. If she had not pulled some of the things that she did, her sons would NEVER have been as indulged as they were and I am angry about how she let 'in' people like the royal reporters and actually made people think that they really knew her and her sons to the point where literal strangers on the street were exhorting Prince Philip to look after the princes, as if the BRF had not surrounded them right away after the death was known. There were people who did not realize at the time that right after Diana's death the entire BRF was in a state of complete shock and there was no way that the princes were fit to be in public, much less expected to perform the role of grieving sons. Ever since Diana's death, William and Harry were assigned the roles of perpetually grieving sons and it hasn't had a good effect. Neither prince was able to grow out of that and I do think that the 'normalcy' BS has been nothing but trouble. Each prince made the mistake of thinking that they were ENTITLED to a 'normal life' (which version I do not know) and I wish people like royal reporters or royal fans would STOP viewing each prince as a 'boy.' I also believe that Diana regrettably didn't THINK that there was no road map for 'normalcy,' and royalty either way. There is no way of balancing anything, ti is simply impossible. Neither William or Harry have the kind of intellectual and mor@l stamina and you can't do it. One or the other and Diana's version of normalcy is one where a person has fun and has no need or obligation to answer to anyone. You just can't.
William and Harry and other royals have morphed into celebrity territory mainly since they have nothing of substance, other than PR. William could have gone into the world of royal life and enjoyed life still, if he had not been brainwashed to think of his role as more than it actually was and it is clear that William just isn't special at all. If he had kept Kate out of his life and managed to just get on his mapped out life, I think he would be further along and a much better and happier man. He was never raised to accept that his life is a good one, an easy one, and one to be embraced. If he had not been brainwashed by his mother to view his life as dull and boring, he would likely be better off and more accomplished. Like celebs who have been too spoiled for too long, royals really do think that 'normal life' is some kind of idyllic, undemanding area where there are no problems, no struggles, and no lack of opportunities. It's not like normal people have guarantee health coverage or guaranteed protection against starvation. A prince has better access than the son of a dentist. It's not like William struggles to pay bills and he really does seem to think that all his wealth and fame does nothing for him, but it does EVERYTHING. Throughout this pandemic, he and his family have been the most protected in the world and he really hasn't a CLUE about the realities that his people face. He plays at being a country gentleman farmer and it is clear that he views this as 'normal' and not privileged. Celebs are the same. I do not believe that he really has any kind of ability to grow beyond PR anymore.
Royals used to be something special, but regrettably they are little more than fodder for magazines. Yet they still prefer deference from politicians and those who actually accomplish.

No, not descended from them, but distantly related (distant cousins, purportedly) to many of the RFs of Europe/UK, oddly enough. May explain my life-long fascination with royalty. I'm just one of many thousands across the planet. It's very intricate and complicated, these family trees. For instance, the modern RF of Liechtenstein is descended from the Austrian Hapsburgs, from cousins of Albert and Victoria (Coburgs), and also from Louis Phillipe (Orleans), King of the French and his wife, Queen Amalie, who was a niece of Marie Antoinette and descendant of the Bourbon Kings of France. That's just a mini-summary I was able to make out today - I'm not super familiar with this royal house, but like I stated above, it's super complicated and intricate. The way I come into this is that with a lot of these people, we have a common ancestor going back many centuries. I really recommend people checking out their own family trees - you would be very surprised the interesting people, noble or not, that you are related to. Yes, when they say they are cousins, they REALLY are. In some cases, several times over! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archduke_Karl_Ludwig_of_Austria

I hear you. She did a lot of good but did have her problems, too. I get tired of people who just cannot let her rest in peace, now. Respect her memory and her contributions, but just move on. I agree about the sons being put into the roles of perpetual grieving sons. To really respect a mother's memory, I feel, is to commit yourself to living the values or respecting her legacy and what she held dearest. I don't see that - but I believe that had she lived, her sons wouldn't have made the marital choices they did. She couldn't support a so-called "normal" life for them because their so-called birthrights were to have prepared them for something better/grander. At best, a life of noblesse oblige, or being a patron of those who weren't born into immeasurable privilege. But we know where that ended up. They have what they do in life due to an accident of birth. They aren't especially intelligent or gifted men, or if they are, they sure haven't displayed any finer qualities yet. There was hope for Harry - at the heart of things, he is a well-meaning man. William went into freefall after 19...

In some cases, several times over! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archduke_Karl_Ludwig_of_Austria I’m an admirer of Liechtenstein! They are unknown and I’m fascinated about the culture! I knew they were descended from the Austrian- Hapsburg line not from France but it makes total sense since every European royal house is related to each other. Since my family is from Africa I would like to know if I’m related somehow. I do know my mother ancestry consists of French, German and English blood so.... My dream is to have a princess who isn’t a celebrity but a freaking princess and acts like one and I wouldn’t mind it coming from Liechtenstein only because it would be great to see the country be put on the map and the popularity of it and possibly having a role in France and doing charity work since my dream is to always see a French princess lol

Are you from Liechtenstein, or just an admirer of the area/RF? No, not descended from them, but distantly related (distant cousins, purportedly) to many of the RFs of Europe/UK, oddly enough. Noble or not, our ancestors helped make us who were are today. There are a lot of good genealogical sites out there. I started with ancestry and of course, branched out to other ones, too, for additional information, etc. I never knew until today to look for the RF of L, but I learned something today, thanks to you. Maybe if you are interested, we can get Lichtenstein RF thread going in either old/current royalty.
