What are everyone's thoughts on this lovely family? I'm probably the only person in the world who thinks this, but as time goes on, Maxima disappoints me. She started off looking to be the perfect princess, but as time has progressed just looks a right mess. Far from what I'd expect of a Queen. I'm sure she's a perfectly nice person, but who is letting her leave the house looking like this? (Top two photos are gorgeous; third photo is what we typically see nowadays).

I think there is something quite unique about their middle child - as there often is with middle children - she just has a certain star quality about her. It will be interesting to see what she chooses to do career wise. In both of these photos she is seen on the far right. Attachments:

I am actually distantly related to the Dutch Royal family.(and others, long story) Through a husband of Wilhelmina, only, I believe. I was never too impressed with the Dutch Royal family - Willem-Alexander never struck me as King material, and Queen Maxima never impressed me, either. It was almost like he forced her on his family in order for him to step up to the plate. Maybe she just tries too hard? Am I wrong?

She seems more front and centre than he does. I think she does try a bit hard with all the facial expressions, riding her bike to events, flamboyant fashions and so on, but I'm usually the only one who sees that. I think Leti sets the standard high of what we expect of Royalty (in my most humblest of opinions).

I must bore some people whenever I relate this. lol I for one agree with you - she's really "out there" isn't she? There are some current royals who are quietly dignified and just go about their business; some just need to be the centre of attention. We all have our opinions as to who sets the bar high and who does not. Keep coming with your "humble" opinions!

Something has to be going on behind the scenes. You would think that she would remain carefully coiffed, but thing is, that she lacks a lot of dignity.

WA never struck me as being particularly intelligent and is perhaps hard to live with? A rather willful man with an inflated sense of his own importance? Maybe he gets his attitude from his mother? Thoughts? I am just tossing this out here.

Guess I am never off in my impressions about people (I got my impressions from past news items, etc) but here's something recent: www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-8658897/Queen-Maxima-King-Willem-Alexander-Netherlands-issue-public-apology.htmlQueen Maxima and King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands issue a public apology after failing to practice social distancing while posing for a photo with a restaurant worker during Greek holiday Dutch royals have apologised for not social distancing in a photo taken in Greece Snap shows them standing less than one metre from a restaurant employee Queen Maxima and King Willem-Alexander penned a tweet in response "Queen Maxima and King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands have responded to a backlash after being pictured ingnoring (My, DailyMail, you do need an editor!) social distancing guidelines during their holiday in Greece. The Dutch couple who visited the Greek island of Milos with their daughters Princess Amalia, 16, Princess Alexia, 15, and Princess Ariane, 13, were criticised for not practising guidelines to prevent the spread of coronavirus during their holiday. A photo uploaded on social media shows Queen Maxima and King Willem-Alexander posing alongside an unidentified restaurant employee, less than one metre apart. "

Why would she think of the public? HEr own father was part of a regime that terrorized and tortured thousands of people and anyone who has gone missing has never been rediscovered. So thinking only of herself is well within her range of who she is as a person.

I just can't get over how stupid these reigning royals are. For some reason, they all lack brains and street smarts. Their ancestors used to be the toughest fighters and craftiest schemers that ever existed and regrettably, they threw all that away over their perverse determination to be has 'above it all' as possible. It is bitterly regrettable that all of them have turned out this way. Maxima is part of this entitlement complex. If Willem had had any kind of brains, he would NEVER have brought her to the Netherlands, much less fought to marry her. It isn't her choice to have a father do what he did, but Maxima did benefit materially from it BIG TIME and apparently had no problems with it. For the life of me, I cannot imagine all this. She knew her father was a ruthless sadistic tyrant who tortured and terrorized millions and has no problems enjoying luxury life and is vacationing while her husband's people are in lock-down and insecure about how to feed themselves and retain their housing (if they live in apartments) and how on EARTH they will be able to pick themselves up and how the new style economy will be. There is no guarantee that there will even be a fully functional economy after (by some miracle) the pandemic is ended. All this and these dolts are vacationing idyllically and violating social distancing norms.

This is really bad optics. I am so glad I do not have them as PR clients, I would need to inject myself with something to get through trying to get them to see reason and NOT do something like this. Those girls looks like a set of spoiled suburban brats and it is clear that none of them are being raised to self sacrifice and raised to stay out of the public eye flaunting their lifestyle. This is just unforgivable. Willem looks like a complete airhead and looks like someone who is sad eyed and Maxima looks like a brainless suburban upper middle class housewife.

So after a champagne vacation she is getting back to pretending to care about her people and will pretend that she will do something about their struggles.

You know, Maxima knows nothing about debt. I really can't get why Maxima had no interest in the world stage until she became a royal consort and wanted suddenly to be so high profile. I mean really, where was all this interest before marriage?
